I bought a computer from willcoelectronics on Overstockauctions.com When the computer arrived it was not at all as described. It also came with a 6 page disclaimer of what was not included and what the computer would NOT do. Just because it said internet ready, internal modem and ethernet did not mean you could use it in anyway to go wireless. If the original add did not mention it, then the computer would not interface, interact or work in any way with any other type program - -so basically you can't do anything with it. The only way to get on the internet is to plug in a phone line and use dial up - which I don't have.
The battery is also dead and won't hold a charge. Despite all the upgrade claims and increase memory etc.. The operating system is Window 2000 and the disclaimer says it probably can't be upgraded. Basically it is an old, old computer they have cleaned up and resold using vague words and promises of a 90 warranty. They say they can only do repairs and give no refunds. the problems with this computer can't be fixed. It was totally misrepresented.
The listing was as follows:This Internet Ready Laptop has been professionally refurbished to factory specifications and is backed by our 30 Days Parts & Labor Warranty. Use Make-it-Mine and get FREE Priority Mail Shipping & FREE 90 Day Warranty Upgrade to protect your personal or gift purchase well into the New Year.
Laptop features a 500Mhz Intel Pentium III Processor, Large 14.1" XGA-TFT Active-Matrix Display (1024X768), Upgraded 6.4GB Hard Drive, Upgraded 128MB SD-Ram, CD-Rom Drive, Internal Modem, 10/100 Ethernet for High-Speed Internet, Toshiba Accu-Point Mouse, USB Port, (2) PC-Card Expansion Slots, Yamaha Stereo Sound System, Battery, A/C Adapter & Power Cord.
Windows Operating System, MicroSoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Toshiba User's Guide installed.
What I got was an old piece of crap who's mouse will barely work.

Did you do any research before deciding to buy this computer? This stuck out like a sore thumb :
"Laptop features a 500Mhz Intel Pentium III Processor"
Seriously, a 500 Mhz PIII processor? Even if you're not a computer whiz (I'm not) it wouldn't take much research to discover that this processor is over 10 YEARS OLD! 10 years in the computer world is a lifetime in human years. You shouldn't expect to be able to do much with a 1999 era processor in 2009. It won't run any operating system above Win2000 or WinME.
I don't see the deception here. The delivered what they advertised (although why you'd want to buy it is questionable). Internet ready does not mean wireless. You can either use the dial up modem, or plug into a high speed (wired) connection using the Ethernet card.
There's a reason they don't take refunds. It's unlikely they'd find anyone else to take that dinosaur off their hands. Whenever you buy something with a no-refund policy, that should be a red flag for you to take extra care in finding out exactly what you are buying. If you'd done even a little bit of homework here, you would have saved yourself a lot of grief.
