work source center received a phone call from a guy named john,says hes from work source center,total scam. Internet, New York

i received a call from a guy named john,says he is from work source center and he has alot of extra work in my area,he got my number from craigslist,where i had a add,so i call and talked to a lady named jordan,this girl is smooth talker,she told me everything in detail,and all i would have to do is a back ground check in which the bank requires to do for the forclosure jobs,i was thinking it was to easy,but i did it anyway,i paid the $99 for the back ground check and they said it would be 4-5 business days ,so a week passed and nothing,so i try calling back and nothing,then finially some answers named audrey,she just connects me to another number that hangs up,tried multiple times to contact them,these people are real scamers,the website seems ligit and the application for work,but its not,i am contacting my lawyer,people like this need to be behind bars,they are scum.
