After
its first complete cycle, the water valve was leaking into the backwash drain. I
informed them and they sent me a replacement assembly. They also noted that
this failure was common and they are now providing different instruction on new
units.
The
unit never worked from day 1, and now I want either resolution, or my money
back.
I
have all the e-mails to prove everything.
Need
advice for how to proceed for resolution I paid using Master Card

The Hard Facts

Unit was delivered and installed as per instructions provided with the package, and the valve was leaking.
Here is the message from www.affordablewater.us:
"Just last week we started putting a bright yellow sticker on the control for those types of filters, warning that starting up the unit up too fast may result in internal control unit damage. Yours is probably just missing this message"
A replacement part was sent
Once again, the unit was doing the problem. I advised them and once again they sent the same part over again.
As it turns out, that was not the defective part. As opposed to admitting that the unit was not working correctly, they accused me of breaking the unit and not following the instructions - that they in fact admitted as per the above email that they failed to provide in the first place (complete with spelling and grammar mistakes)
"The fact that you started the system up to quickly caused the damage inner parts. We send these two you twice at our expense which is over and above our terms and conditions (this cost us over $80).... Facts are Facts"
After this, you wrote the following:
"This will be out last communication in regards to this matter unless you authorize payment for the part and shipping"
You left me no choice. I had a local contractor come in and quickly diagnose the issue. You asked me to pay you for a part that was not in fact broken (Regen piston), nor was it because of the Spacer Stack Assemblies (which were all fine), the issue was with a defective Drive Cap Assembly, which I had to pay out of pocket.
All was repaired and the unit is working well, no thanks to www.affordablewater.us
www.affordablewater.us failed to:
- properly diagnose the issue
- send proper instructions - ie. warning label (not sure if that really had anything to do with the issue anyway since the unit was started 16 hours after it was installed)
- Stand behind the repair of a defective product
The result action by www.affordablewater.us was to:
- Accuse customer of wrong-doing and denying product warranty
- Ask customer to pay for replacement parts that were not required.
- Terminate all communication until I provided payment (for a part that was not in fatc broken)

I find it remarkable that we find ourselves on this web site, only to be contacted by several other web based companies saying that if we pay them money, that they will "hide" this report from the search engines. This is a scam in and of itself. Anyone can produce a report like the one above and then the reader will have to determine is they have a valid complaint or not.

We told this customer that we would be glad to ship him the part that he broke. The part would cost him $9.50 and shipping charges of $16. He wanted us to ship the part at our expense which we did not agree with. www.AffordableWater.us
