I have been a user of Xenetech almost from the very begining of the company. When Jay was alive, the product and support was top notch. After jay's passing, His daughter Jessica took over and things were still good but not to the extent that jay had it. Since the last 10-15 years, it has gotten so that once your warranty runs out...which I believe is about two years....you must buy a extended service plan to get phone support. Email support is still free, but don't expect a response right away.... it will happen when then find the time to answer you. Xenetech was the first system out there with WYSIWYG. They are not the best operating system anymore, but it is still functional. I do agree that they are not very responsive to fixing problems like they used to and older system are pretty much on their own nowadays. I have two 12x16.5 systems that use the long ata APU boards and a 16x24 that uses the short ATA board. But my main machine is the 16x25 which uses the pci card. I had a spare pci board but I am using that now as the other one failed. They cannot be repaired due to one of the ic chips not being available anymore. My problem is that now that Windows XP Pro is not going to be supported in the 1st quarter of next year, I have upgraded my computer to windows 7 Pro and so far I have not been able to get the pci board operating under windows 7. I have the program operating in VM software under XP Pro, but the hardware needs to operate under windows 7. So far, all I have gotten from the company is that I need to upgrade to Viper electronics whicj will set me back anywhere from $5K to 7K. That is half the price of the machine. and three times the price of the computer I customed built. No help from Xenetech on getting the card to work . If I could trade in my old apu/mpu and upgrade for a reasonable fee of $2K - 3K I would probably do it. But I can't justifiy a 5-7K upgrade. That's where I am now and if anyone knows of a way to accomplish this task, I would appreciate any help.

Xenetech and Windows 7

It is a shame you didn't contact Xenetech first to ask them whether or not you could use windows 7 with the PCI card. The answer is a qualified yes, if it is the 32 bit version of Windows 7. If you just recently purchased your computer, the odds are that it is not the 32 bit version of Windows 7.
A few years back, I had contacted Ben, who gave me that answer. I recently was able to engrave with the PCI card and a Windows 7 32 bit computer, but then the computer crashed. I am in the process of getting another refurbished windows 7 32 bit computer. The board will currently not work in the 64 bit environment and there is no way you will get them to write a software revision so that it could. It may even be a hardware issue also.
I totally agree with you that Jay was a wonderful human being and that since he passed, the customer service @ Xenetech leaves a lot to be desired now that he is gone.
