New Business Owners Beware! My husband and I opened a hot yoga studio. Just prior to opening our doors to the public we recieved a notice from yellow pages online services stating that it was nota bill. It also advised to "verifty your local listing below". As I reviewed the below section I could see that my business name was mispelled and for the business phone number ours was not listed but instead a personal cell phone of one of my children that my husband temporarily used in the past. This was alarming so I immediately made the corrections on the form and mailed it back as I did not want the public calling my 10 year old daughters phone. What I failed to see in the fine print was that it was an advertisement and by making the corrections we got suckered into their advertising and stuck with a nice bill. This was extremely misleading as we did not want their services. However posing as a local directory we thought we already had a listing and just needed to make corrections to ensure we were not listed improperly. I contaced the customer service immediatley. However it was after hours so I left a message being that it was a weekend. I did not recieve a phone call back promptly and had to make numerous calls to finally get a hold of someone. They sent me to my businesses assgined account manager. The male was rude and inconsiderate. He explained our short comings and offered no compromise. I requested to speak to his supervisor or manager he advmised me that he didnt have one. I asked who in his company was higher than him that i could talk to. He explained that there was no one in that company at all highter than him. So he basically implied he was the owner as well by saying this. I was furious but maintained composure and ended the conversation. I called back and spoke to a female and asked for a manager highter than the one assigned to our account. She stated that only my assigned account manager could talk to us. I asekd for her boss. She said she could only have me speak to my account manager and that there was no one higher than him around. I asked if there would ever be someone higher than him around that I could talk to, whether it be a different time or day.I demaneded their contact information or email or to at least request them to return my call. She clearly advised me that my information was not going to be passed onto anyone and again there was no one else I was allowed to speak with. I have never in my life dealt with such terrible customer service. I requested that the length of the agreement be terminated as soon as possible. I was told that it could not be pro-rated and that it would last for 6 months. They were  unwilling to help or compromise or assist in anyway. Forget commn courtesy as well. So new businesses that are contacted by them I urge you to be careful so that you do not become a victim like us. We have not paid them yet and they are threatening to send us to collections. We dont knwo what to do and would like some help. We are afraid to pay them and have them use our information once we give it to them.
