Zenith Logistics Work for this company for a month and was injured by another careless employee i was terminated 4 days later was told i didnt report the incident in a timely manner, the other employee wasnt fired Louisville, Kentucky

I work for a company called Zenith Logistics only work there for a month, was told by many i was a good worker and caught on to the job quick. I was riding a motorized pallet jack on my way to the docks to load my pallets onto a trailer.

The dock were crowded this time of day with pallets and forklifts. So I waiting for a forklift to move out the way and another tried to squeeze between me and pallets on my right hitting my jack and knocking my right foot of the platform and squeezing it between the fork lift and jack.

I was nervous about telling them because i heard the stories of how every probationary employee that was injured was terminated no matter whose at fault. So i finally let them know after I call my wife and let her know about the situation.

She state that I needed tell them regardless off being terminated, becaus they needed to pay my medicals bill if my injury was severe. Good thing I listen to her I end up with 2 fractures in my foot.

I told my superviser about 45min later what happen and How I felt about the stories. He assurrued me I had nothing to worry about and I wasnt going to be fired because it wasnt my fault. They review the warehouse tapes an saw it wasnt my fault. But 4day later when they call me in to sign up for workers comp. the told me I was fired because i didnt tell them in a timely manner.

But the other employee the caus the accident still employed. Because he was protected by the union and I wasnt. Even thogh i paid my $100 start up fee and that month union dues. Mind you if i didnt report the incident. They wouldnt of know because the other employee didnt report it. untill he was called in the office to verify the incident

What was funny after they fired me they told me i can use thim as references and I can re apply for the job when Im able to work again. Becaus I was such a good employee
