In our June QWEST invoice your billing of 3 calls from a public telephone at San Francisco Airport on May 24, 2007, is included.

We are not accepting the charges due to an unacceptable per-minute rate of $ 2.38. We have found a number of websites where consumers like us complain about your inflated charges. At a minimum, unsuspecting people (most dont use public phone since everybody possesses a mobile phone in todays world) should be warned by your operators, or an automatic system, of the unusually high charges. Also, your phones that Sigrid Egan used in the US Airways gate area did not allow for the use of credit cards or 800 number calling, putting the consumer at a disadvantage.

Your company takes advantage of people like Sigrid ***, who, at the time, arrived on an unscheduled flight from Europe and was kept in the gate area for hours due to US Airways plane problems.

We expect you to reduce the per-minute charge to a telephone rate that is commonly expected nowadays to avoid a lengthy pursuit of our grievance through government channels.

We will further urge QWEST to modify its dealings with your Corporation.
