Alleviate Tax assured me that they would solve my tax issues, but despite paying over $5,000, they accomplished nothing. Irvine CA
*General Comment: And you expected what exactly?
I am deeply frustrated with James Vo and Alleviate Tax Relief Services for their dishonesty. They assured me that they would solve my tax issues, but despite paying over $5,000, they accomplished nothing. I still owe the IRS, still noncomplaint and I feel completely ripped off by Alleviate Tax Relief Services. Their lack of action has only added to my stress and financial burden.. DONT USE THIS BUSINESS I contacted the Consumer Service Dept as stated by the owner, but no one ever responded.

There are only one way to resolve a tax debt with the IRS, and it involves paying it off. You can ask for an installment plan or possibly negotiate some kind of partial payment, but you don't need a lawyer for that. A lawyer will certainly be happy to take your money to do those things, but they can't wave some magic wand and make the tax debt go away. If they made a representation to you about a particular legal outcome, then file a bar complaint, that is unethical. But otherwise you don't have much of a leg to stand on. You would have been far better off putting the $5000 towards the tax debt.
