Alpha Geek Computers Timothy E. Swan Brought laptop computer to have fan serviced and business owner deliberately destroyed the computer hard drive and motherboard in order to sell me a refurbished model from his store. Leavenworth KS

I consulted with Timothy E. Swan, owner/operator of Alpha Geek Computers at 114 S. 4th Street Leavenworth, KS 66048 (https://alphageekcomputers.webstarts.com/), Telephone: 913-680-0400, to have my fully functioning laptop computer fan checked and serviced. I honestly thought it would take 15 minutes and cost between $20-$50.00. 

Swan took my computer and turned it on.  Satisfied it was running well he then powered it down and removed the case exposing the electronics and the fan.  He took a large magnet off of a vending machine case and waved it over my hard drive and electronics effectively de-gaussing it (removing all memory) and then took an air compressor and used it on my fan and electronics to "clean out the dust" effectively creating enough static electricity to destroy the motherboard. 

Swan then tried to turn on the computer and voila! the computer would not turn on.  It was dead.  A brick.  He absolutely deliberately destroyed it.  You might ask why would he do this?  Well, conveniently he sells old but "refurbished" computers out of his shop.  Swan then very casually stated to me: "I didn't do anything, you saw me, but I can sell you a replacement!"

I was completely shocked by his criminal act.  Swan refuses to admit responsibility and told me that he is not responsible for any damage to any equipment that comes into his store.  My computer was only 3 years old and was in great condition.  I simply wanted the fan checked and serviced.  Swan turned my computer into a brick and/or a $720 repair issue.  Do not patronize this store.  Do not!  You have been warned.
