Bebout & Houg Roofing & Siding Co. removed the old roof and installed a new one. They reused a 40 or 50 year old chimney flashing which should have been replaced, this is a known cause of one leak, the cause of another known leak is not so easily identified.
After months of complaining a representative came and looked at the damage, took photos of a wet rafter in the attic, then came downstairs and examined the water damage in the area above the boiler. (The ceiling in this room is now collapsing, there was no damage here prior to B&H replacing the roof.) I have been dealing with a major black mold problem in this area which the B&H representitive also had opportunity to observe. Their conclusion: there wasn't any leaks and there is no need for any repairs. They have gone so far as to claim that my house has no chimney.
Presently I am making arrangements with another contractor for these repairs to be done. An expense which should be paid by Bebout & Houg.
