BOTTOM LINE BOOKS Collection abuse Des Moines, Iowa

Bottom Line Books has a big problem in their accounting department. This is the second time within a year that I have been abused by their collection people - not by phone but by mail. The first time, I made the mistake of ordering the Treasury of Health Secrets (endorsed by Hugh Downs) online. I received the book, read it and paid for it. TWO months later I received my first collection letter telling me I owe them $47. I checked my bank account and noticed my bank check had been cashed by them a few days after I sent the payment. I politely wrote them back that the account was paid in full on such & such date. Not one month later, I got another letter telling me I was now very delinquent and they were demanding payment immediately. I tried to call them on this, but couldn't get through to their customer service. So I went to my bank and they helped me obtain proof of the bank check (I bank online) they sent to BLB. I guess that worked finally because I didn't get anymore nasty collection letters.....until now. Well, stupid me, I ordered another book from BLB (Bottom Lines Healthy Heart) and PAID them $36.92 right away for this book. Once you pay a company you would think that's a done deal. But not with BLB! Once again, for the second time this year they are harrassing me about a bill they think I owe them. BLB cashed my check and I have proof of payment ( three months ago) and today I received another nasty "delinquent" little note threatening me with legal action if I don't pay them within 28 days (why 28 days???). I will have to go to my bank again and have them send BLB a copy of the check that was sent to them. This is very inconvenient for me as well as having to call them because I don't have time when I'm at work. These people at BLB are morons. What do they do with all the payments that customers send in? I have a subscription to their newsletters (paid in advance) and have never had any problems with that part of it. But when ordering books, buyer beware! The con is on! Of course, I will never buy another book from BLB. I'm tired of them threatening to ruin my credit without cause.
