YOUR CHOICE VAN LINES DAMAGE PROPERTY, PRICE GOUGING EAST HAMPTON NEW YORK

On June 9, 2023 Mr. Max Goldberg came to my residence in East Haven, CT. He quoted me a binding price of$3,360.00to move my items from East Haven to Rustburg Virginia. During the time of the preparation my wife and I found apermanent home in Forest, VA which was the next town over. We set the date for our move to 8-16-2023. Max told methat I was to have 70% of the price of the move on that date which was $2352.00. When the movers arrived Stephan was the Foreman who came to me after half the truck was loaded and said that the price was going to be $14,000.00 becausethey were going to use the whole truck. I objected to Stephan and told him I would contact Max Goldberg who then said  "what I told you was just an estimate" That was a lie, Max wrote on my contract binding price. At this point I was closing my home on the 8-18-2023 and needed to leave. I had no choice and Your Choice Van Lines knew that and so did Max. Max then was calling me to let me know he was going to work on the price and got it down to $11,700.00. That was $8,300more than was quoted to me in a binding price!

Once Stephan knew I was in a bad position he told me he could work out a side deal and ifl worked with him he could make the price go down. I immediately rejected Stephan "deal" and stuck with Max $11,700 although I told Max that I was protesting his rise in price. When the truck left I called Max and he said not to worry when you pay the 70% of the $9348.00 balance then they would schedule a date to deliver our items to Virginia. I then was instructed to wire transfer $5838.00 to Your Choice Van Lines account with Flagstar Bank in New York. I did that on 8/22/2023 Max then told me he would have our items delivered on 8/25/2023. When my items were delivered on 8/25/2023 my boxes were crushed, my coffee table glass was missing along with a hand truck and Christmas dishes. Several boxes that were marked "fragile" has damaged items inside with broken glass, broken picture frames and broken furniture. I have tried several time to work out a settlement via insurance and refunds though Max and the "dispatcher"  Rachel to no end. They refuse to work with me and even suggesting that I buy my own replacements and bill them.
