We received and agreed on a price from David and his sons to remodel two of our bathrooms.  After them asking us for $1,000 upfront before even beginning, we grew suspicious and did some research on them.  Then we found the negative BBB reports among other negative sites.  We brought this to their attention and said we're not comfortable proceeding due to the poor reviews.  David said he'd knock $1,000 off of the total project price if we went with them and provided a letter with a good review after since he wanted to clean up his reputation.  David also provided "his side" for the negative reviews.

Against our better judgement, we decided to take them up on their offer. They came late on the first day, but were able to destroy/demo about 75% of our master bathroom on day one.  When David showed up on day 2, he said we need to talk.  He changed his mind about the $1,000 discount and would like the full amount for the project.  After failing to come to terms on a new agreement, David took his sledge hammers and left us with our master bath completely destroyed.
