This review is concerning the public schools in Durham, North Carolina and was compiled by substitute teachers. The schools on this list have the most unprofessional, untrained teachers and principals whose reputations among substitute teachers is pure mud.

From ridiculing, picking verbal arguments, ignoring, snubbing, embarassing, and slandering; these Durham so-called educators have demonstrated the most unprofessional, unacceptable, demeaning behavior towards the very people who make it possible for them to leave their classroom for any length of time. The list of schools where substitute teachers will accept assignments is short and typically located in poor neighborhoods.

The vast majority of the bad schools are run by black females who are ruining the public school system in Durham. The lack of accountability for student behavior is disgraceful. It is easier to blame the substitute who was only at the school for one day or half day, and used as a scapegoat in order to avoid backlash from dangerous, verbally abusive, ghetto parents of bad students. Blame it on the "sub" with whom the bad students only interacted for a few hours, not the principals' lack of effective training and interpersonal skills.

If you are a current substitute teacher, you may already know about these schools. However, if you are contemplating working as a substitute teacher in Durham, take heed. In this day of Covid, it is not worth risking your health and life. Even if the pay were a $1,000 a day, your dignity and self respect are priceless.
