Insurance claim worth over 16k won’t offer warranty for workmanship. Then denies service but still charged storage fees $2400. KTS Auto had our car to perform repair services after an accident. We didn’t sign any letter of engagement instead had brought our car in for an estimate. While waiting for insurance appraisal approvals, Todd Morindt decided to offer no warranty for workmanship. In addition he overpriced his Labour and offered a kickback to me, which is illegal in the industry. His original quote without insurance claim was $3200, after knowing it was an insurance claim he provided a quote for $16000 (2018 Mercedes GLC). After he denied warranty and service because of his incompetence he then held our car ransom and wanted us to pay storage fees $2400. It is common to charge storage fees if an engagement is been made, but Todd denied the service himself. We are not at fault of opting out. In addition he also put a lien on the vehicle. Insurance would pay for the storage, however again Todd was charging over industry standard. He asked for $100 per day when the industry standard is at $60. Again he was pricegouging. His illegal and unsafe construction of his spraysystem/-booth in his shop should have indicated his shady business practices in advance.
