Loan Mart Guaranteed that they could make me a Title Loan on my completely paid off vehicle. Then, at the last minute, after I had wasted 3 days they told me they could not help me. They had some made up reason concerning my wife. My wife does not work , and has no income. They said they needed her to be a co-signer

My wife, who is out of state visisting her sick Mother, was required to be a co-signer on this loan. My wife has no income of any kind. There is no good reason for her to be a co-signer. This complany is a scam.
They will lead you on and attempt to get you to do document work that they should clearly be doing. The people are NOT knowledgeable and do NOT know or understand the law. AVOID THIS COMPANY DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM

YOU trashed your own credit and they won't touch you unless you have a co-signer! Nothing new here!

..avoid Title Loans altogether. Seriously, if it's at all possible to just do without, almost any alternative is better than a title loan. There's no such thing as a title loan dealer who ISN'T a scammer- the profession is BASED on scamming desperate people.
Title Loans should be what you go for when your Last Resort doesn't work. That's right- it should be AFTER your last resort. It should basically not be an option.

To be totally honest with you to be denied by a Title Loan company, you must be in really bad credit shape as they approve just about anyone with a car and a pulse.
As for a Co-Signer, I am not sure what "law" you think they broke but this is their money and if they want to require a co-signer that is their choice. Beyond that there are several "good reasons" for them requiring your wife to be one. For example, if the title of the car is in both of your names then by "law" both of you are required to be on the loan.
On the plus side for you...be glad you didn't get the loan because it is very likely you would default on the High Interest loan and have your car reposessed because places like title loan companies are not forgiving at all if you ever become even a little delinquent.
