Dream Work Construction does ILLEGAL & SHODDY contracting work.
Currently have a "F" rating with the BBB of North Alabama.
This builder, and his company, Hife wife Cheryl Smith is owner also ,are unlicensed builders/contractors in the State of Alabama.
They have been hiding behind the wife's name Cheryl Smith of Moulton, AL.
Other names of their company has been "Home Solutions, Genesis Construction, A-1 Construction, (Eddie Smith) Quality Construction, Dream Work Construction, Dream Works Construction) ,Moulton, AL .
Eddie and his company , which includes the wife, Cheryl Smith ,received over $10,000.00 in checks within 5 weeks of starting the job of painting the house.
(The contract was for $12,000.=ILLEGAL to write that amount!!)
Currently in litigation and MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SCAMMED similarly.
They are UNLICENSED, NOT-BONDED, and UNINSURED.
Eddie will SMILE and LIE to your face and tell you he is all those things.
He is a BULLY and will THREATEN YOU if you want to fire him. Neither of them are LICENSED to write contracts with the Alabama Home Builders licensure Board for over $10k and yet I met four (4) people on Jan. 2017 with contracts over $10k and one (1) with a contract over $50k!!!).
There are several more listed on the BBB since then!!

**** UNLICENSED GENERAL CONTRACTORS in Alabama have NO LEGAL RIGHTS! Therefore he CANNOT sue you, BUT you CAN sue him!
PS...Now it is March, 2019 and he continues to scam and abuse the legal system.
He has been reported to Alabama Home Builder's Licensure Board numerous times for writing ILLEGAL CONTRACTS (over $10k) and justice is fast approaching!!
Also reported to Police for Theft of Property and Home Repair Fraud.
He has CHANGED his NAME again and currently using Ray Smith and Dream Work Construction, Moulton, Al. (His REAL NAME is Edward Ray Smith and His wife's name is Cheryl L. Smith of Mouton, AL.
Current NEW address is (((REDACTED))), Moulton, AL. (((REDACTED)))
He "Borrows" ie. pretends he is the "Moulton branch") other company"s good names and ratings (he is NOT Genesis Construction LLC of Hartselle, AL. NOR Dream Work Construction in Huntsville.
He also switches PHONE NUMBERS (256) 974-9188,(256) 503-0766, (256)-221-5955.
He advertises on Home Advisor, Craig's list, Buildzoom, etc.
(he also will list his wife's name to hide the fact that he is banned from advertising.)
People assume that because he has a "256" area code that he is LOCAL
(hence VICTIMS in Morgan, Franklin, Madison, Limestone, Lauderdale in addition to Lawrence County, AL.
He/SHE has an F rating on the BBB. (which has been there since 9/26/16!!!) This guy is FEARLESS. he knows MOST people don't want to admit they have been scammed NOR report it...
(people NEVER seem to write his full information because they DON"T REALIZE that is the ONLY WAY to connect the dots with this SCAMMER)
He knows the legal system is SLOW, especially in Lawrence County, AL.
**(If you are fortunate to file in another county you will be surprised the difference in the ability to get "justice").
He has been sued multiple times and he just keeps filing bankruptcy and moves on to the next victim.
he HIDES behind th FACT that all assets are now listed in his wife's name (Cheryl Lynn Smith).
(I personally have a list of 16 victims (and met 8 (eight) of them personally one day in January 2017). And the list just keeps getting bigger . Please CONTACT ME and I will help GUIDE you to REPORT these scammers.

1. Edward (Eddie) Ray Smith and his computer-savvy wife (and business partner) Cheryl Lynn Smith, have now wracked up 40 VICTIMS since I first met Eddie Smith aka Ray Smith in 2016. (Current date = 4-28-21)
2. The numerous aliases of their business names are carefully researched to appear as legitimate "Moulton branches" of successful businesses, that have valid contractor licenses.
3. They ARE NOT the "Moulton-branch of Pro-Build- Construction, Northport, AL., Dreamwork Construction, Huntsville, AL nor Genesis Construction, Hartselle, AL
4. This scamming business has had a BBB rating of "F" SINCE 9-27-16. (currently, the BBB lists the original company names as out of business because there has not been any response...
5. A NEW COMPLAINT for Pro-Build Construction is in progress, but the BBB takes weeks to process complaints)
6. A "40th Victim" reached out to me yesterday on 4.27.21
7. I have a notarized AFFIDAVIT from the Alabama Home Builders Licensure Board dated 12-31-19 stating, "Eddie Ray Smith is not and has never been licensed" by their board.
8. The above statement is CRITICAL because any "unlicensed contractor" in the State of Alabama writing a contract for $10,000.00 single and/or aggregate is guilty of a CLASS A MISDEMEANOR.
9. Eddie and his wife DO NOT have LICENSES to do work, they are NOT BONDED, and they are NOT INSURED.
10. Any contract made with an "unlicensed contractor' in Alabama (at any price) is UNENFORCEABLE for non-completion.
11. An "unlicensed contractor" in Alabama may NOT SUE you for non-completion of contract.
