Ridgid Tool Subsidiary of Emerson Fail to honor warranty commitment Elyria Ohio

Was told to get warranty service on my nailer that I had to ship it to "Factory Service Center " in Ohio at my expense. That was lie number one, they have authorized service centers much closer that would hve saved me time and money. Lie number two is that they would evaluate the tool and update me with any status change. I have heard from them twice in four months, the first time was about two weeks after they received the tool in June. Said the tool was still being "evaluated", about three weeks after that they changed the status to "tool received".

I called to find out what that was all about and the service rep said they were having staffing issues and they would have the service manager let me know more via email. Never heard from that person ever. After the last phone call and email to them this week, they will not tell me anything. I have no proof but I believe they are either incompetent or liars at best or have lost my tool at worst and don't want to take responsibility. Turns out that "Factory Service Center" is not part of Ridgid but is some company they hired to do warranty repairs. Perhaps Ridgid  isn't keeping up with paying for repairs so this outfit is dragging their feet? Bottom line is never buy Ridgid and if you do be aware that the lifetime service agreement is not worth warm spit!
