On June 5, 2023 Thad Nelson came to get money from me in the amount of $6000. He was to purchase and install the pool and then receive another $1500. He never showed back up and gave me a litany of lies about what he was doing and how he was sick and that he was sorry and would make it right. All lip service from him. He now says I owed him money from a job he did for me 11 years ago, which is not true. I sued him on October 5, 2023 and won a judgement, but there is no way to collect it as he is still scamming people and only working under the table, if he is "working" at all. There are at least 20 people I know now who have also been scammed for large amounts of money by him.

Hello. I didn’t pay him in advance. He was supposed to buy the pool with that money. He had worked for me once before, and no issues. I paid up front $1500 for the materials. This is pretty customary here and most people do this. However, if I had not known him from years before and had his name not been on the recommended list from the pool company as an installer, then I absolutely would not have paid anything to him. I’m not a stupid person. I know there are scammers, but it also doesn’t help for you to make a nasty comment on here about it. Thanks.

Why in the world would you pay this guy or any other tradesman IN ADVANCE??? Do you get paid in advance? ANY legitimate and financially sound tradesman can always put a lien on your property and/or force the sale of it to get their money if you do not pay AFTER installation! This is still another example of the EPIDEMIC of LACK OF FINANCIAL COMMON SENSE. in this sorry society!
