On 10/4/2020, I hired him to paint my house. I purchased $450 Sherwin Williams paint (16 gallons) and all the tools for him to use. The house is 900 square feet. He agreed to paint my house, labor only, for $1,000. I gave him a $500 deposit. He did nothing to earn the $500 down payment. The contractor, Robert Murray, took my deposit on Sunday, 10/4/20, and was supposed to be ready to work on that Sunday, 10/4/20. Instead, he told me that his crew wanted to watch the Browns game and would begin working on 10/5/20.

On Monday, 10/5/20, Robert Murray called me to tell me that he had bad news. He stated that he was working another job in Seven Hills, Ohio, and the work he did at that house had failed inspections. He stated that he would not be coming to work at my house until Saturday, 10/10/20. He missed the entire week of 10/4/20. On Saturday, 10/10/20, Robert Murray called me at 7:30 a.m. and told me that he would not be able to come work at my house because his car would not start. I told him that that was not acceptable because I paid him and he had not done any painting. He told me that he needed an alternator in his car and was going to get one and have his neighbor install it. Then he had to go get his son to help him paint.

He then showed up to my house at 11:00 a.m. He began spraying in my house and didn’t tape off the windows or anything else. He didn’t mud over any imperfections in the wall like he said he was going to do. He got my $500 and instantly didn’t want to do any work. He sprayed the ceilings and the spray hit my hardwood floors and left paint everywhere all over my floor and over my electrical fixtures, which had been recently installed. I asked him to please cover everything. He refused. When I walked out the house, he continued spraying without covering my fixtures and sprayed all over everything. My hardwood floors and natural wood trim are paint damaged.  He sprayed paint over EVERYTHING including the banister and my newly intalled vinyl windows, the bathroom floor, toilet, new light fixture and sink. 

When I kicked him out of my house on 10/11/20, he stole my wooden door mouldings when I was not looking.  Most important, he wasted $450 worth of Sherwin Williams paint spraying it all over walls that he never mudded or repaired.  The entire house has to be re-painted, mouldings have to be sanded down because of the paint damage as well as all of the flooring and everything else that he damaged.  He told me that he paints $300,000 houses for a living...BEWARE and AVOID this person and the company if you value your money and your property.
