A pop-up came on my monitor for a free credit report. This was just a way to get a credit card number from customers. Well I fell for it.

They charged me a few dollares a couple times without authorization a few months ago. I contacted them and told them to cancel my membership and to never charged me again. You had to register for a membership to get your "credit report", which is b**.

I never got a full refund , but it was like a few dollars short, so I forgot about them. But yesterday ( aug. 10th, 2006) I was charged $89.85 without authorization. I contacted them and I am still waiting for a reply.

This is b**. There needs to be a law-suit against this company. If you call their number, it says they are linked to about 20 other companys. They all need to go down!

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it!Make sure theymake the Rip-off Report.. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

This is what my bank told me!

AUTHOR: Brittani - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 14, 2006

Ok so I just called my bank today and asked if this company is committing fraud she said NO. But I told her about all of your claims and claims with sister companies and she was shocked. She started a dispute against 24 protect plus for charging me $89.85. She told me when I signed up for a free credit report, it secretly took me info to a company called Todays Escapes, Dealpass.com, and then 24 protect plus. But I guess when I said "cancel my effing membership" its only cancelled from Todays Escapes company. ( and BTW, i think they changed there name to Simple Escapes now, those tricky bastards!)So thats why 24 protect plus charged me 4 months later. So they finally contacted me back and said they cancelled my membership for 24 protect plus AND Dealpass.com. The bank told me to keep all those e-mails so we can use it against them if they sell it to there sister companies and so on. Ok good luck out there! its a dirty world!
