On February 25, 2012 I drove up to Seattle from Portland to attend a funeral service for a cousin.  Needless to say that I was a bit distracted and after getting something out of my back seat I manually locked my door only to realize that my keys were sitting in the front seat.

I used my smartphone to find a locksmith to come out and open my car so I called 24/7 Locksmith services and was quoted at $14 service call fee and I asked how much it would be unlock my car and was quoted "Should be about $39".  An hour later the guy arrives in a brand new Infinity with no company name or logo on it, right then I should have had a clue but I was very emotional at the time and just needed my keys so I could get to the cemetery.

Before this guy did anything I asked how much.  "$208" is what he told me.  I was shocked to say the least and asked why so much when I was told $39 over the phone.  His answer "I can't use a slim jim on this type of car I have to use something else (I don't know the name but it's like an balloon type thing)  I was pretty angry at that point but I really had no choice as everyone was leaving the church, I needed my keys.  He wouldn't even give me a break on the price given my situation.  Oh wait he gave me an $8 discount and said that if I could pay cash he could give me another $20 off.

I paid and gave him an earful in the process and his response "I don't make the rules ma'am." These people need to be stopped, they know they have you over a barrel and that your options are very limited.  After this incident I'm getting roadside assistance, there is no way I will ever again pay $200 for 10 seconds of work.  It's just wrong and something needs to be done to stop these parasites.
