I replied to an ad placed on craigslist for webdesign and programming, I was contacted by Project Manager Karim Djaballah, he insisted that his company was very experienced, showed me websites they had supposedly built, Karim told me they had been in business for 12 years. He also informed me that they did not offer $499 sites anymore , I was charged a "discounted" price of $2,899. After the hard sell I was sent an invoice right away requesting 33% down with a progress payment schedule using Paypal (beware they do not protect consumers on services purchased). After the first progress payment invoice bill sent to me a week later is when thing went down hill, I paid the invoice but did not see any progress as promised and stated on their website: C. Accessibility of Web Site During Construction. Throughout the construction of the prototype and the final Web Site, the Web Site shall be accessible to Customer through a specified link. Until Customer has approved the final Web Site, none of the Web Pages for Customer's Web Site will be accessible to end users.
I attempted to reach this place several times by phone, and email with no response! I attempted a charge back with paypal, my claim was denied due to their policy. Karim then left several voice mails/emails saying he would like to finish the work, only if I sent money orders by mail for the remaining cost of the project, if I did not comply he was going to sue me for the $2200 worth of work that his company had done. Karim, 499websites.com has still yet to show any work that was supposedly done! I opened a claim with my cc company, they have requested documentation and proof of work with no response from 499websites,com. This place completely scammed me and tried to scam me out of more money by using scare tactics threatening me with his team of lawyers living in my state that are ready to take action against me. Maybe they can build templates, but were not able to do my custom site and chose to scam me? Who knows, Just be-careful. I believe they have many bogus links and bogus sites out there to trick consumers into believing they are actually real businesses that they have built site for.

499Websites.com were scammed by Jazline

AUTHOR: Peterthegreat - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 27, 2011

This story doesn't add up.  I believe that Jazline is lying and he/she did not live up to his/her end of the bargain.

Why a company would sue you if they scammed you?  That doesn't make sense to me.  I think there is more to the story then what Jazline is telling.

I believe they scammed these guys at 499Websites.com.

By the way anyone can dispute a charge with a credit card company fr any reason.  It is one the tools some people use to scam businesses.

Wishing you the best 499Websites.com

Janice Smith-Reddick - Janice Smith - Chicago Ilinois - Report is a Scam

AUTHOR: 499Websites - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 27, 2011

499Websites.com is reputable Web Design/Development company. We have clients ranging from Attorneys to small business owners. We have references for whoever is interested.

Janice Smith-Reddick hired us to design and develop a website for her business on September 30, 2011. Janice Smith-Reddick was not financially able to pay the required 50% deposit with the project so we worked out a payment plan for her where she pays smaller deposit and then WEEKLY installments until the balance is paid off. There was NEVER an agreement for progress payment.

After many requests Janice Smith-Reddick failed to provide us with the content and instructions for the website as required by our Customer Agreement http://www.499websites.com/499Websites.com%20Customer%20Agreement.pdf which requires her to send us all of the content and instructions within a week from the date of retaining our services.

On October 19, 2011 at 6:00pm EST Janice Smith-Reddick informed us that she is still working on the content and it will take her days before she will send it to us. Janice Smith-Reddick also failed to send us the required instructions for functionality of the website portal.

The website design was completed and approved by Janice Smith-Reddick (email availabe for viewing upon request) after she made us redo it more than twice. Due to the nature of the Janice Smith-Reddick's website, it is inappropriate for us to put links to the designs but the designs are available for viewing upon request.

After doing many hours of work on Janice Smith-Reddick's website she decided to abandon the project. Janice Smith-Reddick also made false statements to PayPal.

After going the extra-mile for Janice Smith-Reddick by accomodating her finacially, taking her late hours telephone calls, spending hours working on her website, Janice Smith-Reddick is refusing to pay us.
