88 Keys Music Studios, LLC 88 Keys Music Studios 88 Keys Prefers Losing Customers Rather To Avoid Providing Even Mediocre Customer Service. Internet
88 Keys Music Studios is primarily a multilocation company with two listed offices within fifty miles of my home. Primary business is conducted on-line, preferred method of payment is recuring monthly direct bank debit and credit account card charge. They will accept over the phone payments, but a one time payment turns into a recurring payment. Checks are also accepted, they must be mailed to an office or they can be left with an instructor or in a plastic file holder at a teaching location. There is no office in Lancaster, Ohio. Hours for the Lancaster studio location are from 4PM to 9PM on Monday and Wednesdays. The two locations with offices are manned in Reynoldsburg and Pickerington Monday through Thursday from 9AM to 4PM.
Office telephone number went to voicemail 37 out of 39 times the office was called. Message was left all 37 times, no return phone calls at any time from February 48, 2012 through March 28, 2012. When contact was successful, management staff was rude and did not listen to questions or provide answers to questions other than amount of money due and their preferred method of payment. Both staff members insisted I provide banking and/or credit card information even after refusal to provide this information was given multiple times.
Late fees were added to account after a three mont payment was made. Payment was two months behind only because this lesson was a gift and the gift giver did not tell me that no payment had been made. I was charged a late fee for a payment made in advance for the month of March 2012. Management could not tell me when late fees are applied and how often they are applied within a single billing period. I am not in a contract with this company, I have no documentation of any kind drafted by this company that indicates payment schedules, late fees, and other rules and regulations such as notification for missing classes.
I am owed for 3.5 hours (7 weeks) for missed classes, neither my instructor or any other member of management has attempted to schedule make-up sessions or a possible refund. I did call the office at 3:41PM on March 28, 2012 to demand they contact me by Thursday March 29, 2012 to answer my questions about the late fees and the lesson make-up or refund. if they did not contact me, I would pay the late fees and take them to small claims court for the remainder of the lessons not received. In addition I paid my April bill in advance and I would need a refund for that as well.
I was contacted at 7:18PM by my instructor who stated to me that he received an e-mail from 88 Keys management that I was "quitting" my lessons and that his services would not longer be needed. He then for the first time since I started having an arrearment in lesson make-up hours made an attempt at trying to schedule a make-up lesson. I feel that it is too late for him to make that offer if the 88 Keys management has already contacted him and informed him that his services are no longer needed.
88 Keys did not attempt to address my issue with late fees, they would not answer questions about billing or late fees. They clearly are not willing to refund fees for missed lessons and they appear to have no intention of allowing me the opportunity to have makeup lessons either. Profit appears to be the main focus of this business entity, they have the same behaviors as persons and fake businesses who profit by taking advantage of their customers.
I would also like to mention that researching 88 Keys Music Studios has only four reviews to include the one posted on this website and the followup posting. The three other reviews are on one website and one of the three is clearly not a customer, the wording of the review is that of a person pretending to be a satisfied customer. I would like to add that the instructor is not to blame other than maybe not setting up makeup lessons and not reporting missed lessons.
