A Level Above Unprofessional, Unreliable, Con Artist Forest City North Carolina

I had a major problem and needed to have some steps rebuilt. I happen to run across John, the owner of A Level Above, at Lowes or Home Depot, I'm unsure which.
I had John come to my home to give an estimate. He ask me to give him a call the next day when I had the time, and we would talk over price.

I do not know the lady I spoke with at his office, but she should be fired. I told her I needed the quote John had promised. She gave it to me and we set the appointment time to get the work done.

When John showed up, 3 days later than I was told, and did the work, the bill was 250.00 more than was stated when I called! He apoligised, and said his girlfriend got the numbers wrong. I told him I did not care. I would only pay what I agreed to, nothing more. I wrote him a check and ask him to leave.

Later that night his girlfriend called and stated it was her fault and I should not hold John responsible. I told her a deal was a deal and not to call me back again. It was past 11pm. She became belligerent and abusive.

The following Monday I returned home to find two of the middle steps had been pulled apart. If my dog had not of taken the steps before me, I would have been injured. Another gentleman I know said he would never have hired him. He learned John does not have a Contractors License.
