I placed a call for service June 2, 2013 to Whirlpool because my top load Cabrio washer is making loud knocking noises.  I was offered an extended warranty, which I purchased and was referred to A Plus Appliance for service and repair. Aproximately 1 week later, a serviceman came to my home for service.  He was in my home for about 10 minutes, explained that he needed to order parts, but would need approval because they were very costly ($600.00).

I placed another call to A Plus Appliance on June 18, 2013 to follow up regarding the progress of my repair.  I was told that approval was still pending, but they would call the insurer get a status update.  Of course, I was told that I would also receive a return call regarding the status of the approval.  No one called back.

I placed another call to A Plus Appliance on June 21, 2013.  At which time, I was told they had approval for the parts and repair, but shipping for those parts was $200.00, so they had to send another request for approval for shipping.  I went to the laundry mat.  Although, loud, I was told by the serviceman that I could still use the washer without causing additional damage, but my matching Whirlpool dryer started making this loud metal on metal noise.  I reported this for service to A Plus Appliance as well on June 21, 2013.

I called again on July 2 to inquire about shipping for those parts, and was told that they would call the insurer once more and call me back with a status update. I called on July 3, again the same.  I called on July 5th, and was told shipping was approved.  I called July 9th, was told only one of two parts were shipped and they would call to find out about the other part and get back to me.  July 10th, I called, no answer during business hours.  Finally, I call back on July 10th, in the afternoon, spoke with the reception, who reported that the other part is expected to arrive on Friday, July 12 and definitely no later that Monday, July 15.  So she scheduled a service call for Tuesday, July 16,2013. No one from A Plus Appliance has ever phoned me in initiation or follow up.

Although, my service is still pending approximately 6 weeks after my initial call.  I felt an extreme need to vent my still incomplete experience.  I will be back to report how this service call plays out. Thanks for reading.

For those who are interested, my Whirlpool machines are from the Cabrio line, are only 5 years old, and I'm pending my 2nd call for repair on my washer and the first on my dryer. The insurer of those machines is Assurant (haven't received my contract by mail or email) as promised for June 2.
