Had rebuilt transmision a year ago at aamco of erie, and still is having same problems as when before there so called rebuild. Now there saying it is something else like electrical. Already paid $2000. to fix and now if its electrical i have to pay to fix that too. Pretty funny thats why i brought it to them in the 1st place, same problems they diagnosed. The same problems its been doing 5 days after rebuild, and before i brought it to them to fix... Would not reccomend them to anyone......

Problem Fixed (Satisfied customer)

As of last apt. with them the owner came out and took the vehicle for a ride and found the same problem as we did. He explained what it could be and how the transmision works. They had vehicle just short of a week and have fixed the problem...at no cost to me. As for the owner
( Peter Cochran ) I have been very pleased with him, and he made sure my vehicle was fixed and fixed right personally. I have been very satisfied with the work as of this date.
WOULD RECOMMEND... as of this date...
Thank you Peter for your personal time...

Peter it sounds like you went overboard to satisfy this customer. Including rebuilding the tranny twice. You are the kind of business owner I would not hesitate taking my car to, keep up the good work.

Owners response to complaint

Dear Rick,
At this time I would like to take advantage of Ripoff Report's own slogan: "Don't let them get away with it... let the truth be known" as there are inaccuracies in the story you told them. I opened this AAMCO in the summer of 2000 and have ONE customer complaint ruled against me that occurred in my second month of operation. Since then, I have had ZERO complaints ruled against me by ANY agency.
First off, you state you are "having the same problems as before our so called rebuild". Let me assure you there is nothing "so called" about it; I have all receipts for what went into your transmission and would be more than happy to prove to you that they are in there. As for it being the same problem: On 3-24-08 your complaint was that the vehicle could be felt downshifting from 2nd to 1st, had a harsh 1-2 upshift, and would sometimes not shift at all. On 3-23-09 your complaint was mainly a shudder feeling on acceleration and sometimes you would still feel the 2-1 downshift bump. After removing the transmission and completely rebuilding it a second time we found nothing mechanically wrong with it. At that point I did have a conversation with your wife and explain we were going to test all electrical components in the transmission again before reinstalling it in the vehicle. I DID say that IF, I repeat, IF the fault was found to be OUTSIDE the transmission (i.e. external wiring or computer) that part would not covered under the AAMCO warranty.THAT NEVER HAPPENED! On the second test of the solenoid block (also referred to as a cell pack) it failed and we replaced it; NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
You also say: "Its pretty funny that's why I brought it to them in the first place". I'll respond by saying that the first cause of failure was a Low/Reverse piston seal blown out and that the recent one was an electrical fault in the solenoid block; not even close to the same thing.
One similarity does exist however, and that is where you state "The same problem its been doing 5 days after the rebuild". On the 10 day check we performed we found a similar intermittent shudder condition. We thought this was cured after we changed out the fluid using a different formulation and "relearned" the vehicle's computer. Furthermore, we did not see or hear from you in 344 days and 7,652 miles so we thought there were no more issues.
Rick, consider the facts: You came into my shop 13 days before your warranty expired and we completely rebuilt the transmission, found an elusive electrical problem that ultimately never had anything to do with the original problem or rebuild, and ALL of this was covered under your AAMCO warranty "no questions asked". I don't understand your reasoning for filing this report and would appreciate it being retracted.
