On the day 05/26/2009. I drop my Acura Integra at AAMCO located 2319 S Val Vista Dr Gilbert, AZ 85295 for the $19.95 transmission fluid change service as I saw on the flyer they sent to local residents. First I told the manager -Rick Fernandez- that I want the $19.95 transmission fluid change service as I saw on the coupon but i left the coupon at home , Rick nicely told me that was not a problem, he would be honor this coupon and I did not have to come home to took the coupon. He drove my car into the shop, and he came back and asked me again did I just want the tranny fluid change only, I said yes, but i began felt bad about that, made me thought about they did not want to do this job ( $19.95) and he did not talk to me or gave me any paper work for detail service and estimate time for job done and pricing...like many business. I looked thought the window and saw the worker lift up my car drain out the old oil and drop down, fill up bulk oil and they talk to each other something. Rick back in the cashier desk and print out the bill and told me my car done, and final cost is $88.01 include tax & fee. I told him I just want to got $19.95 tranny fluid change only as their promotion. He told me that he will be mark down $15.00 as coupon discount, but I told him I had their promotion coupon just $19.95 for tranny fluid change service as I was told him before. And he told me they do a advance service for my car, remove dirt, grit, abrasives, replace pan gasket and filter, I said that their job show on coupon, and he told me my car is not a standard tranny is a manual tranny, and he charge me that price...(I asked participate AAMCO they told me for my car AT or 5sp same $19.95). Because I did carry another car key and I also did not want to made up a big trouble for his new business that's why I paid that amount, but i kept all paper bill he made and told him I will contact him soon. I spend whole day to talk to them Rick and the guy in AAMCO headquarter but they refuse to refund the difference amount to me, the guy in headquarter offer me a free oil lube service for anycar i bring to him!?. I also call the Gilbert PD but they said they would not help me for that issue. That's why let me went to Ripoff Report to file this story. I heard a lot of problem from AAMCO before but I did not think the new AAMCO shop in my local so bad like this. I used to change tranny fluid by myself as many people do and show on network E how, manual tranny fluid change ez and do not have filter to replace! I filed this report to let my local to be notice about this shop .

Rick Fernandez at Aamco Transmissions in Gilbert,AZ Ripped me off too

AUTHOR: Lovemytruck - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 20, 2009

I took my 2000 Ford F-350 in for a transmission service. I chose to wait for the service to be preformed. My Ford Superduty with 100,000 miles had been serviced at the dealer many times. The underside of the truck was spotless, I have never had a leak of any kind, Also I have only been in Four Wheel Drive three or four times while traveling on vacation to Reno/Tahoe during the winter. Rick Fernandez (manager) showed me my transmission after removing the pan gasket. The gasket was laying on the ground in the dirt, I asked if it would be replaced beings the way it was treated. He told me No because it is a reusable gasket. After the job was complete I returned home, Now mind you I park in the dirt and cant see oil leaks.

A couple weeks later while at work I looked under my truck and noticed a nice transmission leak. When I arrived home I did a further inspection and came to the conclusion that the Transmission gasket was leaking. I returned my truck to Aamco and Rick Fernandez put it up on the rack. Now heres where it gets funny, He pointed out that a bolt was missing from the transmission pan, I looked closely, The threads were VERY CLEAN and if it had been leaking for three weeks there would be plenty of dirt build up, and since I had done an inspection on it that morning (No bolts were missing) Rick Fernandez told me he would replace the bolt, BUT also said the leak was not the transmission pan or gasket BUT from the Transfer case. He said it would be around $1500.00 to repair the Transfer case. I asked for a written estament but he would not provide me with one. Not only that he VOIDED my warranty from the service HE preformed on my Transmission, Transmission Pan and gasket. I disagreed whit him about the missing bolt and disagreed with him on where the leak was. So he told me to "F' off and get out of his shop!

I brought my truck to Rick Smith Auto Care, 3051 E Main St, #102, Mesa, AZ 85213. where he took one look and said it was my transmission gasket, So he preformed another transmission service, New Filter, New OEM gasket, and new fluids for $65.00. Well I no longer have a leaking transmission, And it is good as new. They returned the Pan Gasket to me, you know the one that was on the ground in the dirt at Aamco, It still had a couple pebbles that compromised the gasket. My transfer case did not need rebuilding. I have reported Rick Fernandez and Aamco to the BBB and he failed to reply. DO NOT USE Aamco Transmissions at 2319 S Val Vista Dr, Gilbert, AZ. Rick Fernandez is a liar and a scam artest. Here is a link to the place I used That did the job Correctly, Also PLEASE READ Their reviews:
