ABC Wheel And tire in La Crescenta Ca is handling a fraud type business. I ordered wheels and tires from them on January 22,2002 and still havent received my shipment or a straight answer as to why this is happening. The employees there are obviously running a scam where they keep your money without completing their side of the transaction. I was given a different excuse everytime I called to ask about my purchase. Recently, I've been trying to get a tracking number for my shipment since they said they had already sent out the wheels. They couldnt even give me that. Instead, they said that the "shipping department" would take 7 days to give them one. I called on the seventh day and they said the shipping department was closed and for me to call back another day. This has become a trend where everytime I called them, another excuse would be made as to why they can't give me a straight answer. I've seen many reports on this company recently since I've also become a victim. Im also confused as to why these businesses are still running. On the better business bureau web page, it stated that this company has been in business since december of 1999. If anyone else experienced this with ABC Wheels, please have them contact me on this report. I would like to get enough witnesses to back this up.

WHEELS OF TORTURE! ..Don't be fooled

AUTHOR: Diana - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, October 30, 2002

Purchasing rims and tires in todays world can be tricky. Don't be fooled by a company's extremely low prices and discounts.

I myself planned on ordering a wheel and tire package from a different company advertised in Lowrider magazine. There are approximately 20 different companies in the magazine I can order from and every companies prices vary. For instance, a set of 4 Ferretti portofino rims and tires with one company cost $3,000, where another company advertised only charged $1,200 including shipping and handling, mounting and balancing, and a set of lugs. THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU WON'T GET RIPPED OFF!

If people are ordering from out of state, BEWARE! For locals, it's easier to just walk into their establishment and demand there money back, but for people far away, it's not so easy.

Anybody can hang up a phone and ignore a customer, but if the customer is standing in their building and throwing a tantrum, that's more of an obstacle. This is why most tire companies can rip a long distance customer off and get away with it from. NOT ME!!

I attempted to purchase the wheel and tire package above. Calling up EVERY company in the magazine and getting a price was exhausting but somewhat of a relief.

After speaking with one salesman he brightened my day up dramatically. He said,"My prices might be high, but you can be sure you'll get your tires."

I didn't understand that....He then explained that many companies may give a low price but then change it later on. They may even call you up and tell you that the merchandise you ordered is out of stock and you should order another item. This is because they already have your money and aren't gonna sell you your original order for that minimum of a price. They'll either convince you to buy something else(which costs more money) or do a cancellation which ends up being more anyway because they charge a 30% cancellation fee and a 20% restocking fee so you end up losing half your money automatically. HERES WHAT YOU DO!

Before placing an order from out of state, ask the company to give you a fax or email quote stating that they have the item in stock. Make sure they put down exactly what you ordered and the price they charge with everything included( shipping & handling, mounting, balancing, and price for wheel and tire package and how long it will take for delivery)Finally, make sure they put down the managers name and the salesman's name(jerk you talked to) so you won't have any problems contacting them in the future if a problem occurs. After receiving the quote and verifying the information is correct, call them back and finish your order. I guarantee you won't have a problem receiving your order. If by any chance you do? YOU'VE GOT A HECK OF A GOOD CASE AGAINST THEM!!!
