We read an ad for a "free" sample of AcaiBerry because Oprah recommended it. The only cost was to be $3.95 for shipping. We thought that this was reasonable.

Apparently, our card info. was shared with other companies. Our account was charged $29.95 by FitFactory. We called them and were told that this was a charge to cover processing costs, related to the AcaiBerry order. They agreed to refund the money, which they did.

Almost immediately, our acct. was charged $89.31 by SearchVitamins. We received an unrequested package from this company. We refused the package and called the company. The representative claimed not to understand. There seemed to be language issue. Eventually, the rep. agreed to refund the money within 14 days and cancel future shipments. This did not happen.Today, they claimed that they had no record of the pkg. being returned.

Last week, our acct. was charged $89.31 again by SearchVitamins. A pkg. arrived; we refused it and sent it back. A call to the company today was not satisfactory. They said that they could not return the money to our acct. as requested b/c they had not received the pkgs. back. We did get a confirmation number this time. "Supposedly" the money will be credited, when they verify that they have received the shipments back.

When we told the representative that there were many fraud reports on the web about the company, the rep. said that that was because consumers did not read the fine print. (There were no strings attached to our first "free" request.) Consumers, beware!

To change our card accounts will cause many ripple effects and will require a lot of effort.
