*Consumer Comment: Regarding ACS
I am being harassed for something I did not do, because I was the victim of identity theft. I am not paying for money I did not receive. I have asked the company for information and they have not given me any information that is mine. I believe this is a scam so I am looking for other ppl that this has happened to with the same company.

Thank you for that, I will definitely look into the validation letter. I am sure this is a scam now that I see all these other people's comments. I doubt they will have any information to give me about a loan a supposedly had with them.

Search on ACS here at ripoffreport and you will find, at this time, 1,258 complaints!!! Are they by chance claiming you owe for a payday loan? Because that is a major scam going around right now.
No debt collector can garnish your wages unless they take you to court first and get the judge to sign an order. They would have to show that you owe the money. Don't let threats from slimy debt collectors upset you either.
Stop talking to these people on the phone and do NOT give them any personal or banking information. Send them a "validation letter". If you google or yahoo search on validation letters, you will will find many sites that give you the proper wording. Basically, you need to let them know you are disputing the debt and you are demanding they PROVE that you owe the money they say you do, by providing you with written documentation that shows where you signed up for whatever they are claiming you owe on. Also, in this letter you want to tell them they are prohibited from contacting you via phone, they may only contact you via mail. Send this letter in a trackable form, i.e. certified, UPS, etc. Don't sign the letter with your real signature, as debt collectors have been known to forge documents. Do some research, you can find many consumer sites that are specifically geared towards helping people deal with bottom-feeder debt collectors.
