I cant believe that this school is still working! I applied here with my sister for Medical Assistant. During admissions the representative assisting me with my application told me that a GED would not be required upon completion of program. That all I needed to do was complete a quick test and that would get me to my first day of Medical classes. Upon finishing my test, which was 3rd grade math and reading. About 10 questions...I turned in my test and she came back and said "CONGRATULATIONS! You did good on your test!" She complemented how smart I was in completing the test with such a high score. Then she told me I had to apply for a Fanny Mae school loan...she gave me other loan companies for options but pressed on Fannie Mae because that's what most choose. So I took her advice and did as told.

My classes started and the teacher was ex-Army military. It was a joke of a class. All he did was joke and wrestle with the students. We had maybe 20 minutes of learning and the test of the day Mr. Bush would talk about his army experience and joke with the girls in the class. It was supposed to be a 6 month coarse. When I reviewed my loan, ACT charged for room and board, cafeteria,  and other miscellaneous charges that were not applicable. My sister and I went in on the day of testing, each student came in on designated days to test for their certification. When we arrived Mr. Bush was outside chatting with 2 or 3 other teachers and a student. He refused my sister and I our test because he didnt feel like it. I was so upset!

I was working 1st shift at a Gastroenterologist office and taking night classes, which were 4 to 5 hours Monday through Friday. He just laughed it off and said, " whatever." I'm a single mom now. And then I was a single mom of 3 small ones trying to advance my career make an easier living for me and my children. I'm stuck today still paying back that loan and currently my balance is $8878.35. I have tried several times to dispute these charges, I went to the physical address in Atlanta and the office was no longer there. I called Navient and the representative said that just because the school isnt physically there doesnt mean anything because they are still able to be found on Google. What?! This school is so fraudulent!

After researching and finding them under a new name I called and was told that I can receive my certificate if i mail in a $5.00 check. I did and the check was never used for payment and my certificate was never found. I called again and NO ONE ANSWERS! I hope this fraud of a school is shut down and every student that was done wrong and lied to gets retribution from such a joke of a school. There was NO cafeteria, it was 4 tables and 3 snack machines. I remember when the other students began to complain because of the fraudulent loan charges and how not one of us received the school check loan, it was sent directly to the school.

Also, when I called back about my check not being cashed and Certificate not received, someone answered and wanted to confirm if I indeed attended ACT. When she found me she read that she had my DENTAL ASSISTANT CERTIFICATE available. Dental assistant? Wth?! Stay away from this school! They just want money and good students to use and laugh at.

Get your story straight.

"During admissions the representative assisting me with my application told me that a GED would not be required upon completion of program."

If you already have a GED, why did you include this sentence?

Oh, and I am SO insulted by your "talking to children" rebuttal.  Ouch, that hurts, coming from a person who did everything backwards in her life and who now wants a shortcut to success that avoids the hard work, patience, and sacrifice those of us who HAVE careers and good-paying jobs put in to get where we are today.

Unprofessional resopnse, but then again ACT is just that.

The answer to your "comment" is at that time if you read my post thoroughly, I was told by an employee at this establishment that a GED would not be needed and that all that would be required of me would be the kindergarten test given at ACT. I have however continued my education. I completed and received my GED, I completed several courses in medical interpreting and am certified in different levels, also am currently working towards earning a bachelors in Psychology at GSU.

But, I do appreciate your comment...it only proves just how unprofessional and unnecessary it was. Instead, if ACT were a legit school, maybe the comment would of given me insight and assistance. Then again, I'll keep my comment short and to the point, because you can't argue with children.

Stop looking for shortcuts

You've got no HS Diploma, not even a GED, but three small kids- and you are looking for a career.   Dear, life simply doesn't work that way.  Snap out of your fantasy world, get that GED, and start applying to tech schools for more training.

Sorry, but there's a reason why people stay in school, work hard, and get actual certification- and wait until they are adults with incomes before popping out offspring.   It's so they can have real careers and a real life.  You went from Child to Mommy and figured you'd catch up later.  Well, it's catch-up time, and there are no shortcuts.    There are also no do-overs.  Get to work.
