I’m writing about an incident that took place yesterday at the Affordable Dentures office in Winter Haven, FL office yesterday September 11, 2020. I am deeply disturbed at the way this turned out. I had an issue with the doctor and as a result things were heated. They were refusing to return the full amount of money that I paid them to make me a new bottom denture and they were unable to find a part that was needed to remove the abutments. I have a bottom implant and it cracked so I had to have the entire thing removed.

These are 18 years old, the metal that held the denture in place was shredding the inside of my mouth. I went to Dr. and she told me to get the bottom removed from the people that put them in which I did that immediately. . After a few office visits it was becoming increasingly clear that the part needed could not be found, at this point in time the Doctor told me that it was becoming clear that she was not going to make money off of this and it's not worth her time.  I have not been able to eat for three weeks. If she had told me on day one that she may not be able to find the part I would not have handed over $3,580.00.

I was becoming anxious, had not heard from them and finally I called and said if they can’t find the part to give me a refund, the Doctor told me that she would refund me in full, I went to the office and realized they were keeping $580.00 for abutments that they were not going to use. I was angry admittedly. As I was In a heated dispute with the doctor a dental assistant came up and sat down to listen. She interjected herself into the conversation and I asked her to stop, I wasn’t talking to her. She began screaming at me and I lost it and hit the plexiglass partition which caused it to fall over on top of the desk. This young girl  jumped up and started screaming to call the police. That I was going to jail. I apologized profusely.

The stress from not having teeth for three weeks and unable to eat has been difficult. I don’t understand how the doctor could allow this young girl to talk to me the way that she did. This young woman was so excited and giddy that she couldn’t wait to call the police and have me arrested. I truly am confused as to how this is professional. She was bouncing all over the office she was so excited. I willingly laid down $3,580.00 I expected to get help, I did not get the help that was promised. Had the doctor told me from the beginning that she may not be able to find the part I would have gone to someone else. She never told me that.

The girl that attacked me was horribly wrong and out of place. Admittedly I was angry but she came and added gasoline to the fire. This is unacceptable behavior. I am nearly 70 years old, I have never been in any kind of trouble in my life as I sat there waiting to be arrested. I asked three times if they wanted to to vacate the building. They declined. Three officers showed up. I am mortified and embarrassed. This is not me, I am not violent I simply snapped when this young woman came in my face to scream at me. I will warn everyone that I know not to use this office, I will use social media and other avenues to communicate my horror at how I was treated. I cannot recommend anyone go to this office, some of their reviews are good, I'm glad that people didn't suffer what I did but my circumstances were exceptional. These poeple were not honest and strung me along fror a few weeks. Not considering the fact that I was unable to eat anyhting but liquids. This was a nightmare. Dont hand over your money!!!!! You may not get it back.
