Aflac Insurance We purchased the accident/disabilty insurance at aflac and of course we thought we were safe if something happened. But the agent failed to tell my husband that if he got hurt at work it was not covered. Even the home office thought it was covered but they informed us today, that we are NOT covered because the injury occured at work. ripoff Columbus Georgia

We purchased this police in July and were never told it did not cover on the job accidents, even the home office of my husband's company was unaware that it was not covered.

The agent tapped danced around the fact that we were not covered in a work accident.

We are paying $170 a month for insurance that is no good and that we cannot cancel until March.

We were promised something different by the agent. We would not have bought the policy had we known that this was the case.

KNOW YOUR AFLAC POLICY...THEY ARE STRAIGHTFORWARD WITH GREAT VALUE!

AUTHOR: Njduckling - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 09, 2009

AFLAC POLICIES ARE GREAT...

WHEN you hear from those who say their "CLAIM IS NOT PAYABLE FOR ON-THE-JOB-ACCIDENTS"...THAT IS RIGHT but not WRONG OR MISLEADING IN ANY WAY! WORKERS COMP COVERS ON THE JOB ACCIDENTS, but if you have the AFLAC's ACCIDENT PLAN or a BASE ACCIDENT with a Disability Rider, you ARE COVERED, and for multiple cash benefits, ON OR OFF THE JOB!!

SO YOU HAD THE WRONG POLICY! GET THE ACCIDENT PLAN (Group rates approx. $5-8 p/wk) covers you for on and off the job accidental injuries. A DISABILITY PLAN IS YOUR PAYCHECK INSURANCE.

A DISABILITY PLAN is Income replacement when you have an off the job accident or Illness customized to fit your needs. It pays you in addition to State Plans and up to two years. You choose the benefit and waiting periods. 1 year plans are most popular.

SO, in summation...GET THE AFLACTS!!!!!

Insurance for Daily Living...They've Got You Covered!

Aflac policies

AUTHOR: Ralph - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 07, 2009

Dear Policyholder;

I work for Aflac, and we sell Personal Accident Plans that cover accidents at both work or home. We don't sell accident/disability, we sell accident policies or disability policies, and I can assure you that Aflac spends millions of dollars training their staffs on the differences in the policies. Selling anyone an at-work disability policy would be a disservice (ripoff), inasmuch as most people already have workman's comp coverage in place! I can assure you that Aflac is reputable as recognized by Fortune Magazine, etc...

Sorry about your injury just the same;

Ralph E. Hardie

After taxed

AUTHOR: Defendtruth - (U.S.A.)

Your off job aflac disability is after-taxed deducted. You can cancel anytime by calling 800 992-3522. You may have to submit your request in writing. But usually after-taxed policies can be cancelled over the phone. To reach a live rep, just keep pressing zero on your phone until the automated operator gives up.

If your off job short term disability plan is pre-taxed, then go ask your employer why he/she did that... not smart in my opinon. You have to pay taxes on the benefit.

Read your outline of Coverage

AUTHOR: P - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 15, 2007

On page 4 of the Personal Disability income Protector Brochure, It is stated.."What is NOT Covered" We will not pay benefits for a disability that is caused by or occurs as a result of your: Having work related injuries" Furthermore:

Benefits (page 2):If you are working at your full-time job while coverage is in force and a covered SICKNESS or covered OFF-THE-JOB injury causes you to become totally disables, we will pay you one-thirtiethof the benefit shown in the Policy Schedule for each day you remain totally disabled. A full time job is defined as a job at which you work 30 or more hours per week for pay or benefits.

It cannot be more plain or simple OFF THE JOB
The Accident/Disability policy requires a Rider for Disability which states "For OFF The Job Purposes only"

On the job disability is covered by workman's compensation.

Aflac temporary disability ripoff

AUTHOR: Tony - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 16, 2006

We have a pamphlet the agent gave us when we bought the insurance and nowhere does it say that it does not cover work injuries and it has covered work injuries for this company before.
The agent knew there was no coverage and the company did not put it in the info pamphlet. So as far as agent or company,I would say six of one, half dozen of the other.

As faf as the home company,as I said,it has covered work injuries before on the same policy. They are saying it should be covered.
I would not just throw things out there like that. This company is a huge company and DID read the documentation and there was nothing saying it was not covered.

Aflac or the agent?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 16, 2006

Why is the insurance a rip-off?

Did anyone read the coverage documentation and exclusions prior to signing up for the insurance?

The insurance inself may or may not be a ripoff (I don't know since I do not have it). You should be mad at the agent who mis-represented the insurance not the insurance company. Why does your husband's home office not know what insurance coverage they have? Apparently they never read the insurance documentation either.

Is your husbands injury covered by workman's comp?

Any time off due to the injury covered by short term disability?

How do the police feel about being purchased? Sorry, it just struck me funny.

I do hope that your husband has recovered or is recovering.

Do not rely on what the agent tells you verbally for this or any other insurance. Read the insurance documentation. That is what you have contracted for, not what the agent tells you. If you have discussed and agreed to anything other than what is standard policy, get it in writing.

Good luck.
