We were preapproved for a mortgage 2 months ago at 5% down with no problems. The preapproval even showed our credit scores as having been considered at the time of the preapproval with no problems at all. Then when we went to lock the rate and called them we were told just kidding you need 20% down because of your credit score. When we questioned about why were we approved then they could not tell us. Now we are scrambling to find something to help us and are absolutely livid at these poor excuses for human beings.
