#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
Mother doesn't have the facts straight!!!!
AUTHOR: Al Chambers - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, July 26, 2016
Mother doesn't have the facts straight!!!!!! Eric was looking for work and we had used him in the past as a helper with a tile setter and we decided to give him a chance on a small job. He was taken to the job to look at it and see if he could do the work and how long it would take. After going over the job he agreed it would take him 3 days and would be paid $125.00 a day for the 3 days, a total of $375.00. The owner agreed and paid in full ahead of time. Eric was to start the next day. Eric started the next day and I went to check on the job and he seemed to be doing ok. Later he called and said he was out of tile and needed more. He brought the owner to the office and they picked a tile that matched and we ordered it and we picked it up for him. Later we found out there was more tile that he just had not seen costing the owner more money. After the 3 days he still was not done but said he would have it finished soon. At completion and checking the job I found that he had made the pan too low and the water wouldn't drain. We pay him for 2 days and deducted one day for having to redo the tile. Eric was off doing something else so we had to redo the job that Eric had done. It cost us more that the one day we deducted from his pay to correct his mistakes. We did not hire him pn a per day basis as his mother stated and we were extremely fair considering what we had to do to correct his mistakes. We do not hire drug users or alcoholics and they certainly wouldn't be doing anything like that on the job.
