We heard about a "great" deal, to get LARGE LCD TV's at cost or below, from someone who had connections at a electronics store going out of business. It sounded a little iffy, to be honest, but the person who brought it to our attention was a real estate person who said she was "selling him a house".

We pooled our money and patiently awaited the time we were told it would take for Alden Allen to gather all the different groups money and go make the purchase.

It didn't take long for the excuses to start--at first, it was because he hadn't been able to get down there, then it was because it rained, then the truck driver was stuck in traffic and didn't want to come up late in the evening, then it was the truck was stuck down the hill with problems, then he didn't have a truck, one excuse after another, each slightly plausible, until the excuses just stopped, and he just avoided phone calls.

Along the way, we were criticized for being "pushy" and "impatient", as if a month were not too long to wait after being told at the beginning it would be less than 2 weeks. It's been over 2 months now, and no TV's in sight. We heard he was "hurt", but this, too, sounds like just another scam. I mean, after all, his mother died twice! At least, that's what he said...

If this guy approaches you, or a friend tells you about a "special" deal a guy he (or she) knows can get, just ask, "Is his name Alden Allen?" Then keep a firm grip on your money and run, don't walk, as far away as you can get from this guy, so you don't get ripped off, like we were.
