I helped my brother fill out all of the paperwork for the All Tune and Lube Franchise. The story is pretty much the same as Derek Lee. More money was needed each time. And when the SBL didn't work there were others brought up, ways that can put someone in serious financial difficulty.
The previous owner of that specific location my brother bought took months to sign over the card machines and accounts. Can you imagine? Anyone that has had this problem please contact me at through the rebuttal key.

I was contacted by ATL and they are sending me information to buy a franchise. How has ATL helped or hurt your business. What items did they not live up to.
I am from Thibodaux, La. and was thinking of buying a franchise and open it in Houma.
Are you still in the business with ATL? Has it gotten any better?
Could you give me your advice?
Thanks!

I paid a 21,000 $ n fee

I agree with the orignial comment made. Once I sent in my money, I requested a equipment list and for the realestate department to contact me. I was told that I could not get a copy of the equipment list until I paid a 21,000 fee. The 11,000 I paid for the deposit should have opened the door for me to get full access. I explained to ATL that I wanted to purchase my equipment local. As far as the realestate: They have no one in my area, I gave them the name of the person I have been using and they said they would fax all the realestate information to them. They did not even call the person. I did find out that three ATL opened in Indiana and were out of business quickly, one center had no help hiring mechancis.
As for the person qustioning the ability to have additional capital. I have plenty of capital and I do not need any money out of this operation. I have owned other franchises in the past and I have never had such poor communication. Its amazing ATL calls you every week for 9 months once they have the money its like thanks you are on your own.

CHECK YOURSELF AND DONT COMPLAIN

DID YOU CONSULT AN ACCOUNTANT A CPA OR ATTORNEY. DID YOU REALLY HAVE THE FINANCIAL BACKBONE TO SUPPORT YOUR VENTURE. MOST PEOPLE THAT TRY TO BUY FRANCHISES QUICKLY LEARN THAT THEY DONT. COULD YOU SUPPORT YOURSELF FOR UP TO AT LEAST A YEAR WITHOUT PAY TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS. MY BEST GUESS IS THAT YOU DIDN'T. THIS IN THE BUSINESS WORLD IS WHAT WE CALL TAKING ACTION ON A PIPE DREAM. YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE SENT ATL MONEY WITHOUT FIRST UNDERSTANDING THE RISKS. I HAVE SPOKIEN WITH THEM AND THEY MAKE THE RISKS CLEAR. IF YOU MISREPRESENTED YOURSELF THEN YOU CANNOT HOLD THEM RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CURRENT FINANCIAL PROBLEMS. IF YOU COULDN'T AFFORD THE 10 OR 20K THAT THEY WANTED HOW DID YOU EVER EXPECT TO FINANCE YOUR BUSINESS. KBG
