*Consumer Comment: Allegro Law/Americorp helped me
Beware of Allegro Law firm in Alabama, aka Americorp in New York, aka, Champion Debt Relief among others I may not be aware of.
Some of the names to watch out for are K. Anderson Nelms, Esq. Allegro Law, Ryan Gallagher, Americorp in New York.
Money is taken to be put in escrow to help pay off outstanding debts none of which was paid. Emails are not answered, phones are not answered and they pay themselves first before even trying to settle debts.
I was truly scammed over this last year with lies and smooth talking from an individual who stated "I will be your new best friend"
Hopefully, this will be seen by others..

Allegro Law/Americorp helped me
AUTHOR: Walford - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, April 15, 2010
I understand and appreciate the complaints being lodged against Allegro Law/Americorp, but this didn't happen to me.
I had a Discover card with a total of $4,800 and a Wachovia Visa card with $6,000 in debt.
The monthly interest alone for the Discover card was $135.00/month -- that's just to break even and not pay down the debt. So I contacted Getoutofdebt something or another and they set up a payment plan. They did exactly what they said they would do.
I have the documentation.

Now that Allegro/Americorp has gone into receivership...
http://www.allegrolawreceivership.com/
...I am no longer sending the $59.00/month payment to Allegro and will be sending the same amounts directly to those credit cards.
I feel bad for everybody else, but if I didn't see the payments going into those accounts from the beginning as I did, I would have stopped making payments. As a consequence of the arrangement that Allegro negotiated with my creditors, my interest payments are considerably less than if I had dealt with them directly at first.
I'm neither defending them nor attacking those who didn't fare so well; this is just how it worked out for me.
