I recieved a call on 6/30/2007 on my cell-phone from Alliance One, who refused to verify their co. and that they had right in pa to collect debt.

The first call was an interrogation from a woman who did not speak the english language well, she proceeded to try verify information like a n**i in an intermerment camp.

The representative of this company never indentified herself only that she was calling from alliance one, when I asked her what this was about she became irrate

told me that I owed monies to Pnc Bank and that I need to pay the debt and then hung up on me.

After that rude call I had to call back to 866 985-0275 where a rep picked up the phone and I asked her did her company have license to collect debt in pa and if so what is the license #

and immediatley she diverted the call to what was said to be a manager, I waited 10 min for him to pick up and this is where the 60 minute magic happened.

Alton Morris (if thats his name) gets on the line and identifies himself as the manager and I proceed to ask for the same information and he refuses. So once again these trained pros go into their interrogation process and ingnore my request.

I again ask for license to collect debt in pa, address of co., and account # associated with this debt and for 1hr he danced around giving me the info

and told me how I am talking over him and rude again I asked for the information to verify his company and again this jerk ignored me.

I explained to him if he can not provide the info, then he should not call me anymore and that all correspondence need to be made via mail.

Of course he starts his spill that he has the right to call me anytime and now at this point I am pissed. I let him know if he calls this # again that I am not responsible for his bad luck (in so many words)

finally the worm gives me the information but he gives me the wrong address and does not want to tell me the acct # associated with this instead he quotes a ref#

Now, if I were a dumb @$$ I would not have had the sense to get on the net while this idiot is on the line and verified everything he was telling me was not valid.

He did not want me to verify his company simply because his debtor was not to pursue this debt because it was listed as fraud due to identity theft with the courts.

Now, I have 1st class law suit.

My advice for anyone is if a collection company calls verify that they are licensed to collect debt in your state, get the lic # and the account # from original debtor

because it could be fraudelent and you could pay some company $$ to resolve debt and this debt can still be outstanding because they don't have the right to collect it.

The impression i get from what your writing it sounds like you were rude, swearing, vulgar and irate.

The collection agency DOES NOT have to give you there license number. They do have to give you there first name, company, number and address.
What makes you think they gave you the wrong address?

If you look on the web they are licensed nationwide. Hmmm, which means they have several addresses to different offices.

If you owe a debt they have every RIGHT to call you to collect on that. That includes multiple calls a day.

If this was fraud why wouldnt you just send or fax in wriitting a copy of the police report and dispute it on your credit reports?

As far as the other concumer response:As soon as you SAY you are the consumer they DO NOT have to verify such as date of birth or social security numbers or addresses.

Dont get mad that you owe a bill and there calling to collect on it.

Things happen in life. (meaning not paying your bills do to job loss, medical etc)

But learn from your mistake go back when you can to take care of it.

Alliance One is screwing me over too!!

AUTHOR: Amber - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 28, 2007

I got a phone call about a Credit One card that I have admittedly not been paying on. I lost my job and my husband barely makes enough to cover the mortgage. A woman by the name of Nadine calls. She barely verifies I am who I say I am before giving out all kinds of account information. She never informs me that the call may be recorded, she never tells me that it is an attempt to collect a debt and any information given may be used as such. I'm pretty sure that's illegal. I call back and get the manager, she tries to get the money out of me without giving me any info. I would really like to sue these people. They are not abiding by the laws. And if I read right. You said they are not licensed in PA?? That is where I am from. If you are getting anywhere with them please let me know!
