I wasn't sure what the charge of $983.72 was pertaining to and when I called the company "AllianceOne" and asked them what this was for, I didn't get a straight answer and I then asked if they would send me a copy of what they had as to what these charges are to and I the person whom I was speaking to hung up on me, I was pretty upset and decided I would go online and search the web regarding this company and I happened upon this website, and thought I would give this a try. I hope that if this company is scamming individuals, that they are quickly shut down and forced to refund funds that are due back. Thank you for letting me vent!

At the beginning of each contact with a collection agency, they tell you what company they are collecting on behalf of (i.e. name of phone company, hospital, credit card, etc.).

When bills become delinquent and are at least 31 days past due they can be forwarded on to a collection agency that will attempt to collect the debt that is owed more aggressively. The collection agency does not have itemized statements of your bill. It is seen as irrelavant information at that point. In most cases, the original company sent bills and itemized statements for 90 days before turning accounts over to a collection agency.

You haven't provided important details of your situation here. I am assuming they told you what the debt was for but you wanted details of charges, which they refused to give you (again, if you have read your past bills from the original business you've already gotten the details of charges). Reasons, like moving & not giving the postal service a valid forwarding mailing address for you so you didn't recieve statements are not valid.

I would suggest that if you are aware you owe XYZ company, that you call the collection company and make payment arrangements with them. The collection company can provide you with the original account # you had with the company. If you never ever used services from XYZ company, then it may be fraud. In fraud cases, you need to file a police report that someone has used your identity, SSN, etc. on the account & send the police report into the collection agency or XYZ Company's fraud center.

Unfortunately, alot of debtors want another itemized statement only as a way to stall paying the bill or because that they are in denial that they owe & HAVE TO pay on legit bills. If this is a legit bill, take a deep breath and face it. Handle it now so you won't have to over they many years to come. Good luck!
