I received a letter from Allied Interstate. They claimed they were trying to collect money in behalf of Verizon. I called them to get more info. They were very rude and hung up on me three times when I asked to talk to the supervisor. They had an old phone # and the last 4 of my SSN (scary). I later called Verizon that not only has not record of a debt, also says they do not use that collection company. I found many postings on the internet. This company is a SCAM!!!

Allied Interstate are JUNK DEBT BUYERS who purchase VERY old accounts for pennies or less on the dollar. Most of the time they cannot document these alleged debts, and they know it.
Keep in mind that now that you called them, they have your phone number, even if it was blocked or unlisted.
NEVER call, or speak to ANY debt collector on the phone. It will never do anything positive for you and will almost always make things worse.
Always do everything in writing and make them prove everything.
