CONSTANT PHONE CALLS DAY AND NIGHT FOR WHAT AMOUNTED TO A $16.00 BILL FROM READERS DIGEST 14 PLUS YEARS AGO.
AFTER SAID BILL WAS SATISIFIED I REQUESTED TO BE REMOVED FROM THEIR CALLING LIST NOT BEFORE RECEIVING THE NAMES OF ALL THE INDIVIDUALS I HAD SPOKEN TO; IT SEEMS THE INDIVIDUALS I'D SPOKEN TO ALL HAD THE LAST NAME OF "SMITH" (CARROLL SMITH AND SUPERVISOR SHANE SMITH).
I ALSO REQUESTED A CONFIRMATION NUMBER. 2 HOURS LATER HERE COMES ALLIED INTERSTATE CALLING AGAIN FOR THE SAME DEBT. (AFTER SPEAKING MY MIND, I DON'T THINK THEY WILL BE CALLING BACK!"

If it is really over 14 years old then the Statute of Limitations is over. Right them a letter make sure you send it certified mail return receipt. Tell them that the debt is well beyond the Statute of Limitation and you wish them the Cease & Desist from any contact in any form. Make sure you keep track of when they receive the letter. You can do this now on the post office web site.
Make sure you keep copies of everything and keep the green receipt returned with a signature from a representative of Allied Interstate on it. Keep this for the rest of your life.
Once they receive this letter it is illegal for them to attempt contact. They could try and sue you but they will not do it for 16 dollars.
