then you are charged $1.00 per claim (501 on up) PER MONTH

If you use their financial calculator and decide how much you want to make by using the above per claim fee you will discover that you will be paying them in excess of $1000.00 per month and perhaps up to $2000.00 per month to use their virtually obsolete antiquated software system.

The software has limited capabilities and currently offer a bare bone billing service. Forget their scheduler. Its provides very little and I would not recommend it.

MARYLYN one of their licensees and trainers will say the switch is not worth it to costly. She is on of the few that gets reduced rates using ABS/ MEDRIUM. She ALONG WITH some other ABS licensees ARE technically challenged and know very little or next to nothing about other medical billing SOFTWARE and how they WORKS.

So they can't even give you an intelligent response on the other software. I say this because I have interview her along with two other licenses that put their testimonials on the ABS website . ABS licenses are only allow to do data entry via medrum system. Medrium does all the processing of the claims with mckesson relay health clearinghouse.

ABS licensee do not have A direct relationship with the clearinghouse . this is only given to Medrium internal billing services.

WHAT YOU GET

your claims batch uploaded (the oldest technology) by medrium to the clearinghouse at 7 pm everynight.

ABS licensee claims are done during the day are held in limbo in the medrium billing system until 7 pm each night

At 7 pm Medrium claims to have an automatic function build in there system that sends ABS claims to McKesson Relay Health Clearinghouse via a BATCH upload

AT APPROX 9 am the NEXT DAY(ACCORDING TO MEDRIUM)

.Mckesson Relay Health send the claim through to Insurance company or back to Medrium at some point in the day if the claim has errors. MEDRIUM THE FOLLOWING DAY Send that claim back to you!

This process takes 24-48 HRS TWO DAYS.

(If you are not familiar with the industry TERM Clearinghouse, It defines an establishment that has been given accreditation to process claims directly with THE INSURANCE COMPANIES. )

The part of their system you are entitled to you is not real time

Note: medrium is an actual medical billing business. they provide outsourcing and is your competition.

The employees working directly for medrium have a full access to additional software capabilities like scanning that you will never get and they have direct access to the clearing housel.

ABS WILL GIVE YOU MARKETING MATERIAL THAT WAS PRINTED OVER FIVE YEARS AGO AND SOME OLDER THAN THAT. Its useless!!! You will find that most of the material is not even worth using as you will have to alter the fraudulent language that is unethical and shouldn't be used as FACT, i.e. paid in 7 to 21 days. REAL-TIME technology etc.

SUPPORT; Be prepared to be given the run around. Support is limited and frustrating with ABS. They say they will support and help you in every way. I have heard that they will tell you to READ THE HELP FILES. And go get a course on coding. some get more but in the END YOU ARE PAYING THROUGH THE NOSE!!!

- ABS has never had a registered Licensee by the name, "Linda Ashby", therefore the facts quoted in this, and previous postings may be questionable.

- American Business Systems, LLC is a Texas Limited Liability Company registered with the State of Texas and in complete compliance with all regulatory requirements. Originally the company was American Billing Systems, Inc. The name of the company was changed in 2007 because ABS added several services that are offered by it's Licensees that are not billing services.

- ABS partnered with technology partner, Medrium, in March of 2001 to offer a privately-branded Online Practice Management System. Medrium has been described as the market and technology leader for purely web-based practice management solutions, as quoted in the Dunn & Bradstreet article mentioned at www.allbusiness.com.

- The ABS System utilizes two of the largest clearinghouses in the nation, Emdeon and McKesson, which are both publicly traded, and well known in the industry for providing the highest levels of customer support.

- The ABS System includes real-time patient scheduling, accessible through any computer with an Internet connection, a HIPAA-compliant internal communications system for communicating with your doctors and staff, e-records (scanning and storage of patient documents), extensive online real-time reporting, label and claim printing, continually up-to-date ICD and CPT code database, redundant storage of data on servers located in two different geographical locations, automatic daily backups, accessibility of all patient records and reports via any cell-phone with a browser and Internet connection.
