This company "is not" connected to the US Mint; they sell collectibles and "reproductions"! After sending you a mail offer, that's too good to resist, they then proceed to ship (for your approval or return) anything and everything (they choose)-about every 10 days! Nowhere, in the fine print, on your first offer, does it say your acceptance gives them "carte blanche" to do this, at will!
After the second shipment, I returned it, with a letter telling them to ship "nothing" unless I specifically ordered it. Did that stop them?? No, I call my cc company, told them what was going on and requested they approve nothing further from this outfit. By the way, AM always took the full 30 days, they were legally allowed, before issuing credit!
Meanwhile, the "Mint" had "maxed out" my credit card (yes, the one I intended to use for Christmas shopping).
Two weeks after the last $70 shipment was refused (on Nov 13th) and returned to them, I called their customer service line and advised them that "they had, exactly 24 hours to re-apply the credit to my card, or I would report them to the FTC, the BBB (and the bbb), as well as all 300 email addresses in my address book". They mailed the item to me on Nov 10th (1st class) and it was returned the same way, so you know it was back in their inventory in 4 or 5 days.
Guess they didn't believe me, cause they took a full 45 DAYS to issue that credit. So, guess what, I'm keeping my promise- - have reported the incident to FTC, BBB and now to you (bbb) and am working the mass email, as I write this! They were warned, they ignored- -My advice: If you've never done business with American Mint, don't! If you do- -order COD and pay CASH (at the door)- - don't write a check, cause they're brassy enough to use your bank tracking number and charge your checking account!

I used to work at American Mint and I slowly felt my soul and karma slipping away to hell after seeing what kind of operation the Germans were running in there. If you're working for them, you'll never see a promotion unless you're German. They all sit back and collect a nice fat paycheck, and many of their homes and vehicles are paid for by the company.
People would get charged all the time for stuff they didn't order, seniors on fixed incomes would have their debit cards charged sending their checking accounts into the negative, making it so they couldn't pay their thanksgiving grocery bill, they got letters like that all the time.
You should see the way they run that warehouse. The warehouse manager is a real piece of work, a real meathead. The kind of person who blames all the mistakes on everyone else while behind their back takes the credit for all their innovations.
For a long time I wanted to get the word out about this company, it's a shame they prey on seniors and people who don't take a good long hard look at what they're spending their money on.
The certificates of authenticity are complete crap also. They mass produce them in whatever quantity they want, and the numbering is never kept track of. I wouldn't be surprised if more than one people have an identical certificate. They're just a gimmick.
At least half of the inventory has been returned, meaning it's been sent to a customer, opened or not, returned, looked at by a returns person, sent back to inventory, pulled later by someone else to fill another order, and sent back out, often times not inspected at all.
They don't really pay much attention to what they're doing in there at all and most of the mail they send out is collection letters - they pretend to be the debt collectors too!
I could write a book about this place, I'd love to see a class action against them and everyone who ever gave them a dime refunded... I know a lot about these people...
I'm so glad I got the hell out of there when I did, my conscious couldn't take anymore!
