I was the owner of Stanley Steemer of St George Ut and used Tim Vensel at American National Insurance for years. In April 2007 I called Mr Vensel and cancelled the coverage on two of the older vans. I didn't tag them that year and parked both of them in the warehouse. I mention to Mr Vensel sometime later that the insurance didn't reflect the vans being removed. He said it was becaused I added a new van.

Later that year in March I received a renewal noticed which listed both vans that I removed almost a year ago. I took the paperwork to Mr Vensel office that day and he said he would get to the bottom of it. Mr Vensel called my office sometime later and told me that a employee at there corporate office was fired for not canceling the two vans. Mr Vensel didn't know he was on speaker phone with two other employes sitting in my office.

I sold the Steemer franchise about six months later and was shocked to see that both old vans were still not removed. I filed a complaint with Mr Vensels corporate office. I was told by a women there that Mr Vensel stated to her that I didn't sign the faxes he sent to me. I had already told her the story that Mr Vensel had told me and that he was not telling the truth. She stated she would look into it further and get back to me. She has never tried to contact me again.

Went to Mr Vensel office in May of 2009 and both he and his office manager told me that Mr Vensel sister had made the mistake. When I ask him why he told me someone at corporate had made the mistake, he stated he didn't remember telling me that. I told him I gave one of the vans to my brother in May of 2008, Mr Vensels  office sent me a bill of sales dated April 2007 and asked me to sign it. Mr Vense said this way his corporate office would refund the 700.00 dollars. He stated he was still working on getting them to refund the money on the other van.

Got a message from someone at corporate stating that since I didn't cancel the title with the state I wasn't due a refund. Can't believe that corporate would stand behind Mr Vensel after what I told them. This was a mistake that was made in Mr Vensel office and he and he only should be held responable. At this point I don't ever expect to get a refund, but would like to see Mr Vensel license to sell insurance in Utah be revoked. Given the time that says pasted I feel that not much can be done. But feel free to contact me if you help bring more attention to Mr Vensel lack of business ethics.
