My experience with American Suzuki has been a total nightmare.  I have felt being bullied, humiliated and abused by any institution as much as by American Suzuki Financial Services.  We leased a Suzuki XL7 with an option to purchase it at the end of the lease.  The dealings with American Suzuki Financial Services was, at a minimum, UNPLEASANT.  The Suzuki dealer had trouble getting us the discounts promised.  We had to give up the discount as the dealer was exhausted in getting nowhere with American Suzuki Financial Services.  I believe that we ended up paying $500 more than we should have.

Some in 2008, American Suzuki moved.  Consequently, American Suzuki changed our account number and address for payment, etc.  My bank sent one month's payment to their old address before we were notified of the change of account number, etc.  Then, abusive letters flooded in, telling me how overdue my account was.  For three or four months, I kept on receiving such letters.  Every time, when I called I was told that they just received the payment and there was some mixup due to their move. And, they said "please ignore the previous notice."  THESE NOTICES SIMPLY SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED.  A FINANCIAL INSTITUTE CANNOT ROUTINELY MAKE THREATS TO UNDERMINE PEOPLE'S CREDIT.

IN ADDITION, THEY DO NOT WORK AFTER 5 pm. THEY DO NOT WORK BEFORE 9 AM. THEY DO NOT WORK ON WEEKENDS.  If they cannot afford to be patient to wait for the payments to them.  They should work to get their payments.

We returned the Suzuki XL7 in December 2009.  In about a month after the lease expired, Suzuki started sending threatening letters again, asking where the car was, where the paper work was, etc.  The matter of fact is that American Suzuki had trouble locating the paperwork sent to them by our new car dealer.  We made numerous calls and could not get a straight answer about what was going on.  However, they are pretty good at sending letters saying that they are gonna report your delinquency.  How dare they!

When we returned the Suzuki XL7, we were told that there would be no fee if the car was returned at our subsequent dealer's business.  WE WERE CHARGED OF $350, for the "disposition fee."  When I confronted them, I was told that I was not supposed to be charged of the fee because we are in New York and that the disposition fee would be "waived."  IF I WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE CHARGED OF THE FEE, HOW CAN THE FEE BE WAIVED?!!!

For seven months, we kept on calling American Suzuki to resolve the dispute: they charged us for two holes on the bumper when their dealer .  Yet, abusive letters keep on coming in.
