Ronald...Re-Read my post...

I never said I worked for AmeriPlan. That would have made me an employee. I was not an employee of Ameriplan.
I was a BROKER for 4 years.
I did not say anything about trouble cancelling, read the first line of my post.
I said BILLING ISSUES. There were a number of them.
I terminated my BROKER status in 2001.
The broker support network was unresponsive to say the least. The billing department was totally incompetent and lazy, and the only word they knew was "can't".
I followed proceedure to the letter. I had more customers drop out than I can count because of billing issues and the take it or leave it attitude displayed as a regular course of doing business.
TWICE in 4 years they cancelled my broker status for no fault of my own. The first time they failed to update my new credit card info and instead of calling me or letting me know somehow, they just sent me a letter that said " we are sorry you chose to cancel your brokers' account, blah blah blah..
The second time, 1 year later, they billed me TWICE, once on each card! I tried to resolve this for three months and had to dispute the charge on the other card, well once again I got the same letter as the first time!
Downline theft was another problem. I had a very large organization too.
I can go on and on, but there is not enough room here.

You can also send an email to stop@stopmembership.com to cancel your membership and/or brokership. This method worked very well for us.

Sensible rules exist for cancellation.

I have personally know the Ameriplan IBO at 1000 Royal Heights Rd, Belleville,IL for many years. He has always conducted business with the highest level of ethical concern.
Ameriplan clearly states in literature that '... you may cancel your membership in writing to AmeriPlan by MAIL to ... by FAX to ... or E-MAIL to ...'. 'Attempts to cancel by telephone will not be accepted.' These are the rules and the members, if they wish to cancel, should follow them. Experience has proven that members which decide to cancel will be responded to very quickly if they follow the requirements that the company has established.
With these requirements in open distribution and print, I fail to see where Jason can claim that he was mistreated since he didn't follow the established procedure for cancellation.
To try to present the independent Ameriplan business owner at 1000 Royal Heights Rd. on this page as corrupt or to do so to Ameriplan is, I feel, unfair and possibly damages a sincere, caring, and hard working professional.
In fact, I hope that this business owner will respond to your concerns on this page.
And Steve, if you truly worked for Ameriplan, shame on you. Perhaps you left Ameriplan because you didn't follow policies in place.

They do not process telephone cancellations. You can mail or fax it, but I suggest sending it by certified mail, return reciept requested.
Also, be aware that AmeriPlan bills on a one month ahead method, and any cancellation during a billing month, will still result in one more months fee. They do not pro-rate.
I was an AmeriPlan Broker, and terminated my association with them because of billing issues.
Good luck!
