Angela in Smithville, TN (please keep others warned of this trader)

Four weeks ago, I found a horse that someone forwarded to me to check out..they knew I was looking for a great kid horse. The ad was on www.dreamhorse.com . It described the horse as a great kids horse, look no further kind of adI called and she said she had just sold that horse but that she had just one other horse that she needed to find a home for. I asked her why she was selling him here is her story

She said they had lost their farm and needed to move to a smaller one where they couldn't keep as many horses. She said her daughter had two horses, a white one that was blind in one eye and this 7 year old TWH. She said her daughter wanted to keep the white horse because she was afraid since he was blind that he'd end up slaughtered or put down. (Ahhh, heart strings being manipulated here) Her daughter hated to part with Chance but as long as it was a good home.

She said she had known him since birth and she was the only owner besides the breeder who she was good friends with. Chance had spent the last five years as a saddle club horse her daughter had taken him every Friday night that they had it and showed him many times. He never bucked or gave them any vices. She also said that although she charged $800 for a 12 year old registered quarterhorse..she had to charge $1500 because Chance (unregistered) was only 7 years old.

Yes, I was foolish and believed her. I do have to say that I had just bought a horse sight unseen 12 weeks prior and she is a GEM, came from a great family and I knew her entire background (all former owners and talked to each one..great experience)

I couldn't let this great kids horse go to someone else (she let me know she already had another buyer for him because he was such a a great horse) so I bought him. When we met to pick him up, he did not look as good as the picture. I had requested more pictures of him, but all the pictures she sent were of her daughter on Chance in the same outfit on the same day not more than 2 months ago, flag number two going up here.

When I met the seller in person I had an immediate pit in my stomach, but pits in stomach don't hold up in court. I did know I could not refuse this horse, he'd go back to her and I'd never see a dime of my money. I took him home and my vet gave him a thorough check up. he's not 7 he's 13 atleast.

I immediately called the seller and she started retracting everything she had told me and even changing the story. she had no clue who she bought the horse from (first story was that they were good friends) and her vet who did the Coggins checked his teeth and put his age down as 7. I called her vet and he disputed this, he said he had never seen the horse before and that she was suspicious in that she changed the name of the horse from Buddy to Chance when they were filling out the paperwork. He said he wrote down the age that she told him that he never looked at the horse's teeth.

Fast forward....the owner refused to call me back or return my emails. I decided to do a google for her email and immediately another complaint about her came up. It was from a lady who accused her of drugging a horse and selling it as a safe mount but the horse bucked everyone off. I shared my story on that same website and within 30 minutes there was a response from the seller defending herself.

She denied being a horse trader but yet she could not produce a picture of her child with this "family horse" they've had for 5 years other than the pictures taken all that same day...very recently. She also had promised to get me the name of the person she bought him from, but then said she had no clue who she bought it from and could not find that information out...she said I got what I paid for and stop complaining.

So I did even more investigating, contacting local horse dealers, sheriff, auction house, farriers, vetsI have found out that this lady gets these horses from the auction house. I found that she had put 4 more horses up for sale on 2/4 on another three other websites and changed her location. In fact, she had her daughter again posed on one of the horses insinuating that it was a kids horse etc.

She is selling anywhere from 4-8 horses a month, I have contacted the TN agriculture state dept. and they are pursuing putting pressure on her for not having a license. I don't know if that will curb her racket but at the very least folks need to be aware of this lady and her practices. Here is a thread that I (ma23peas) responded to help others, in the past two days there have been over 100 posts on this issue. you can read for yourself the words from the seller and make your own judgment. I am only seeking to inform others of my experience and the fraud that was committed against me.

She has changed the name of her farm name to Lake View Farms and has moved from Watertown, to Smithville and now shows Dowelltown, she was under the name of Crescent Moon farms when I bought the horse. her name is Angela L Jones and she is in Smithville or Dowelltown, TN. I believe it is highly dangerous to take a horse off the auction, claim it has been your family horse for five years (having owned it less than 2 months if that, just gathering that time frame from when she took the picture of Chance..all the leaves were off the trees..so it could not have been more than 2 months ago...if not the week before I bought him..in fact, I think she claimed she took those pictures a week before she sold him to me!) and market it as a bombproof kids horse..many families are looking for kidbroke horses...she's playing on that and selling potentially dangerous horses.

Please if you deal with this person, bring a vet, bring a trainer, visit her when she does not expect you or show up 2 hours early to view the horse...do all you can to make sure you KNOW what you're buying.

ripped off by Angela Jones FROM SAM0029@AOL.COM

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, March 14, 2011

I also bought a TWH gelding from Angela Jones/ Thundercreek farms in the summer of 2010.
She misrepresented this horse to me.  Her add on horseville.com said it was kid safe, broke for anyone to ride, 4H, etc.  She even said her daughter had this TWH in Saddle Club for a year!!! ALL LIES -  Angela Jones buys these horses at the Cookeville TN auction.  And puts them all over the internet as kid broke, bombproof, childs horse.  She jeopardized my safety and the safety of my 8 year old daughter.  She said this would be the perfect horse for my daughter to start 4H with.  This horse is not safe for a child .  A child is going to get hurt on a horse that Angela Jones is misrepresenting as a child broke horse, broke to death, bombproof.

Angela would not take this dangerous horse back - or give me my money back.  She stops answering her phone when you call her.  She has done this to so many people.  She knows that people will just sell the horse to get rid of it.  Even if it means taking a loss of money..
Angela knows once you get rid of the horse - you will leave her alone.

Read all the rip off reports on Angela Jones.  They all state the samething -  Misreprestation on a childs/kids broke horse/ will not take the horse back/or return the money/ and quits answering her phone.

See my original ripoff report dated 2/22/2011.

I agree it is highly dangerous for Angela to buy horses at local auctions that have behavior problems and health problems and market them as child/kids broke horses.  A child is going to get seriously hurt!!

DO NOT BUY FROM ANGELA JONES/ THUNDER CREEK FARMS.

I would not hesitate to testify to the fact that Angela Jones misrepresented the horse I bought from her on Horseville.com

Some people have nothing better to do.......

AUTHOR: Angela - (U.S.A.)

1st AND FORMOST APPOLOGIES AND A REFUND WAS OFERED BUT REFUSED!!!!
IF YOU REFUSED THE REFUND OR APPOLOGY THEN THATS YOUR FAULT.....
I am Angela, and I have advertised horses for other people. I have sold a few of my own personal horses, but do not make a business out of it. If it makes me a "horse trader" then so be it. Im guessing if you have a puppy for sale your a "puppy mill" and if you have a car for sale your a "car salesman" to but thats besides the point here.
Advertising and dealing with horses is my hobby. You can NOT make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time, but one should really try....Just as I did with the lady in Alabama about her horse. She accepted the horse upon delievery, commented on how beautiful he was and then proceeded to claim 3-4 weeks later he was skinny,mistreated/abused and could not be ridden, and lets not forget to mention she sent pictures of a FAT BEAUTIFUL horse being ridden by a CHILD to try and claim her accusations! She harassed me to no end, even after I offered to take the horse back and REFUND her money and she replied with "I will take "some" of my money back and still keep the horse". Thats just absurd any way you look at at. In a nut shell,I had the proof with pictures and video tht the horse was rideable and was in excellent condition, she herself even claimed her vet made a comment on how well he was made and that he appeared to be a show horse type her children could enjoy(I have the emails to prove it). This is a prime example of how someone will purchase an item/animal and then decide they do not want it or shouldnt have bought it in the 1st place. All you have to say is "maybe I should have bought a different one, maybe we should have not bought one at all". I explained I would take the horse back and all I got was "NO" and "give me a few hundred dollars and I will drop this whole mess, maybe I can get a free saddle out of the deal".(also have that email to prove it as well).
In a nut shell, some people have nothing better to do than cause others missery and headaches. You dont get to keep the item/horse and your money to. It was up to the buyer to keep the horse, they were offered a refund and declined.
As far as the other comment about useing a picture of thier stallion.....I did use a picture to reference color because it was nearly identical to a pony who was in my barn. I had no idea it was a "big deal" nor did I intend to cause anyone any harm. I have appologized NUMEROUS times for that and tried to explain but to no avail as the stallion owner only wanted to be rude and hateful and insist she was a "mind reader" and knew more about what I was doing that I did about myself! She also demanded I send her money for damages...When there were no damages at all! Did she just want free money? Yes I made a mistake, but we are all human and I didnt do anything intentionally to hurt anyone. I was slandered, harassed and threatened by both of these people but I chose to let it go because Im the bigger adult here.

Like I said, you cant please 100% of the people 100% of the time but I certainly tried and if you arent happy with a purchase and yet REFUSE to accept a refund then you shoudnt complain. Appologies were offered numerous times but like I also said......There are those people in the people in the world who have nothing better to do with thier time than try and make others miserable.
I would also like to mention that when someone buys something and they are unhappy most people AUTOMATICLY think it's the sellers fault and they tried to rip off or scam the buyer and that is NOT always the way it happens. Just because we happen to be the seller does NOT mean we are the bad person. Some people will make up anything just to have something to do and others have very real problems with sellers but when you choose to keep something after neing offered a refund then you should just deal with it. If your that unhappy then you should take the refund! Most people will NOT refund you at all,but I offered on several occasions to the lady who bought the horse. The story is to long to even go into and I refuse to play into the games anyway.
Im sure there will be a negative response from these 2 people, and thats ok because I expect it. I have told them both I will not act like a child and continue to bicker with them. I have a life to live and things to do and those things do not leave me time to play into thier child hood name calling and bickering. Lets face it people,if you arent happy with me and if you refused a refund and cant accept an appology then you should go and find something productful to do with your free time.
I'm not the only one this has happened to im sure, there are millions of people in the same boat who are thrown into the catagory of "scammers and ripp offs" when they didnt do anything wrong,or if they did it wasnt intentional.
I probly shouldnt have even played into this by filing a rebutal,I havent done so untill now because I know what the truth really is.......
BOTTOM LINE
Accept your refunds or appologies and move on,or be quiet and be an adult!

We are all adults, lets act like it. You can let your ignorance shine bright,or choose to be an adult. I've made my choice.

This Angela person is continuing to commit fraud and used photo's of my stallion

AUTHOR: Cat - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Angela Jones fraudulently used photo's of my stallion on one of her ads for a pony mare. She used photo enhancements to try to hide his male parts and used him to advertise her "rare champagne pony mare" on horsetopia.
I filled out a report on her here too and I want to make sure everyone that buys or sells a horse knows these people, Adam and Angela Jones, for who and what they are.
The horse world is a small world and we need to look out for these people who will cheat, lie and otherwise take advantage of buyers. Pass this report on to all of your horse friends, email groups, forums and anywhere else these people may prey on others.

Thank you Tara for standing up and reporting these people!
