Annointed Drywall/Richard Smith Sr. Richard Smith Sr. Defrauded my family South Carolina Ladson

Richard Smith Sr. "AKA: Annointed Drywall" with business cards hailing from Connecticut and or New York. Resides at Sineath Estates in Ladson, SC. This gentleman and his common law wife befriended our family as neighbors and offered handyman services to our trailer which Mr. Smith Sr. never completed despite being payed in full prior.

Which he took advantage of and defrauded us as neighbors and newbies. Mr. Smith initially showed up and did a few good projects then after being comissioned later to do more work. His craftsmanship and presence dwindled. He would promise to show up on certain days habitually and not show up at all unless pressed to do so.

We had enough after trying to hear excuses for the last 6 mos. He hides a lot and makes excuses and will not show up to do the job. Yet will show up when you've ordered a service for your home or equipment.To ask about why you spent so much money and quote: "Never asked him for his contacts". FYI: He refuses to ever give you his contacts (he only did once and did it begrudgingly).

He is an avid church goer and will make it a point to go to church every Sunday. He and the common law wife, invite people over for dinners and are quite friendly but seem to ask impertinent questions about how much you've paid for your home services, cars; etc and are very intrusive. I have felt I'm being watched and don't like the feeling.

Please do not give access to your home to anyone. No matter how nice they may seem. This gentleman had not shown up to do any work Yet managed to show up on the day we were changing locks on our home to demand answers. My car tire went flat suspiciously on Christmas Eve and he called me to tell me so, All just around the time he was confronted and when asked to never come around our family or home again.

FYI: He does not do plumbing well. So do not allow him near your plumbing. He managed to cause more damage to my laundry PVC plumbing and flooded my floors causing me damaged drywall which he failed to repair. He has made so many excuses from trying to repair simple things like holes in walls that needed patching.

He painted over these areas without patching and left ugly brush strokes and air pressure painted walls which still show imperfections. Failing to use a second coat. He claims, to not remember things he promised and has mentioned he was in the military.

He allegedly has many health issues, former drug and alcohol issues that prevent him from being truthful, keeping business deals, and finishing jobs. Yet can make it to other comittments the rest of the week and to work as well.

My point for making this rip off report is to advise anyone to steer clear of making any business deals with this gentleman and to not make the same mistake we made. And also to leave a record on file for the police and anyone so inclined to use this information as I now fear for my well being.
